appear in the *Washington Post*, but you know what happened.... It
appeared in the final edition of *New American View*. The other

Nation of Islam's newspaper, and the magazine I personally am
involved with *New Dawn*.

The Crimes of Mena

Clinton and the Cult of Intelligence

The following are excerpts from an article by former National
Security Council staffer Roger Morris and Sally Denton. This
amazing story was scheduled to appear in the *Washington Post on
January 29 - after months of delay by the Clintonites and the CIA
cultists at the *Post. However, in a last minute turnaround by the
editor of the *Post, the story was not published (see accompanying
item from *The Sunday Telegraph).

If the story ever makes headline news it is almost certain to
bring down the Clinton presidency. Moreover, though, it threatens
much more than a presidency - it exposes the total corrupt and
debased nature of consecutive U.S. Administrations.

Of the many stories emerging from the Arkansas of the 1980s that
was the crucible of the Clinton presidency, none has been more
elusive - nor more ominous - than the specter of major drug
smuggling, gunrunning and money laundering tracing to the tiny
town of Mena, nestled in the dense pine forests of the Ouachita
Mountains some 150 miles due west of Little Rock.

Local Internal Revenue Service agent Bill Duncan, Arkansas State
Police investigator Russell Welch, Arkansas Attorney General
Winston Bryant, then-Congressman Bill Alexander and various other
officials and citizens in the state all believed by the late 1980s
that they had what Bryant termed "credible evidence" of the most
serious criminal activity involving Mena between 1981 and 1986,
crimes seemingly with the acquiescence if not complicity of
elements of the U.S. government. Mena's obscure Intermountain
Airport they thought to be a base for Adler Berriman (Barry) Seal,
a self-confessed, convicted smuggler whose operations were said to
be linked to the intelligence community, and who was murdered by
Colombian assassins early in 1986 after Seal testified for the
U.S. government in a prosecution of leaders of the Medellin drug
cartel.

After 1987, Duncan, Welch and others pressed for a number of
official investigations into the alleged Mena connection. To their
mounting dismay and alarm, every inquiry would be inexplicably
ineffectual or else stifled altogether, and their own careers
damaged in the process, furthering their suspicions of
higher-level collusion and cover-up - and in any case leaving the
larger mystery of what had really happened in the woods of western
Arkansas.

Now, however, a new mass of documentary evidence relating to Barry
Seal has come to light, substantiating the worst suspicions about
Mena as never before.

Gathered from various sources over the course of the past year,
the more than 2,000 docmnents span the years 1981-1986, and
include Seal's bank and telephone records; negotiable instruments,
promissory notes and invoices; personal correspondence; address
and appointment books; bills of sale for aircraft and parts;
aircraft registration and modification work orders; personal
diaries, handwritten "to do" lists and other private notes;
secretly tape-recorded conversations; cryptographic keys and
legends for codes used in the Seal operation; numerous depositions
and other sworn statements - and, not least, extensive official
records, including federal investigative and surveillance reports,
accounting assessments by the IRS and Drug Enforcement Agency, and
previousIy unreported court testimony as well as confidential
pre-sentencing memoranda in federal narcotics trafficking trials
in Florida and Nevada.

Startling Evidence

Among only a few of its revelations, the Seal Archive provides
documentation:

* That Mena, Arkansas from 1981 to 1986 was indeed one of the
centers of an international smuggling traffic, amounting - by
official IRS and DEA calculations, sworn court testimony and other
corroborative records - to many thousands of pounds or kilos of
cocaine and heroin, and literally hundreds of millions of dollars
in drug profits.

* That Seal himself spent hundreds of thousands at the Mena
airport to land, base, maintain and specially equip or refit his
aircraft for smuggling. According to personal and business
records, he had extensive associations locally at Mena and in
Little Rock, and was in nearly constant telephone contact with
Mena when he was not there himself, including repeated calls just
before the day of his murder in 1986.

* That as a former member of the U.S. Army's Special Forces, Seal
had ties to the Central Intelligence Agency dating to the early
1970s. He had confided to relatives and others, according to their
sworn statements, that he was a CIA operative before and during
the period when he was establishing his operations at Mena.

* That Federal Aviation Administration registration records
confirm that aircraft officially identified or admitted to be in
the Seal smuggling operation at Mena and elsewhere were previously
owned by Air America, Inc., a known CIA "proprietary" company.
Emile Camp, one of Seal's pilots and a witness to some of his most
significant dealings, was killed on a mountainside near Mena in
1985, in the unexplained crash of one of those planes previously
belonging to Air America.

* According to still other Seal records, at least some of the
aircraft of his smuggling fleet, which numbered a Learjet,
helicopters, and former U.S. military transports, were also
outfitted with avionics and other equipment by yet another company
in turn linked to Air America.

* That among the aircraft flown in and out of Mena was Seal's
C-123K cargo plane, christened *Fat Lady. The records show that
*Fat Lady, serial number 54-0679, was sold by Seal months before
his death. According to still other files, the plane soon found
its way to a "phantom company" of what became known in the
Iran-contra scandal as "The Enterprise," the CIA-related secret
entity managed by then-Col. Oliver North and others to smuggle
illegal weapons to the Nicaraguan contra rebels, and, according to
former Drug Enforcement Agency agent Celerino Castillo and others,
allegedly involved as well in a return traffic in cocaine, profits
from which were then used to finance more clandestine gunrunning.

* Federal aviation records show that in October, 1986, the same
*Fat Lady from Mena, serial number 54-0679, was shot down over
Nicaragua with a loan of arms destined for the contras. The doomed
aircraft was co-piloted by a Wallace Blaine (Buzz) Sawyer who was
himself from Magnolia in western Arkansas and who died in the
crash. It was the lone surviving crew member in that downing,
Eugene Hasenfus, whose admission of covert activity began a public
unraveling of the Iran-contra episode.

* That the hundreds of millions in profits generated by the Seal
trafficking via Mena and elsewhere resulted in extraordinary
banking and business practices in apparent efforts to "launder" or
disperse the vast illicit money in Arkansas and elsewhere. The
Seal financial rccords show for the early 1980s, for example,
instances of daily deposits of $50,000 or more, and extensive use
of an offshore, foreign bank in the Caribbean as well as financial
institutions in Arkansas and Florida. (On October 9, the London
*Sunday Telegraph reported independently the existence of
"numerous" other foreign bank accounts in Seal's name, including
one said to contain over a billion dollars.)

* That Seal was scarcely alone in his extensive smuggling through
Mena and elsewhere over the period 1981-86, commonly described in
both federal and state law enforcement files among the Seal papers
as one of the largest drug trafficking operations in the U.S. at
the time, if not in the history of the drug trade. He was "only
the transport," documents show Seal confiding on one occasion,
pointing to an extensive network of narcotics distribution and
finance in Arkansas and other states. As one example, the Seal
records show him to have been a close associate of a group
eventually prosecuted for major narcotics trafficking in
neighboring Kentucky.

* That in explicit recognition of Seal's extraordinary
significance in the drug trade - and thus of the magnitude and
importance of Mena as one of his main bases - U.S. government
prosecutors made him their chief witness in a 1985 Miami trial *in
absentia* of Medellin drug lords, in another 1985 trial of what
federal officials regarded as the largest narcotics trafficking
case to date in Las Vegas, Nevada, and in still a third
prosecution of corrupt officials in the Turks and Caicos Islands.
At the same time, court records and other documents reveal a
studied indifference by government prosecutors to Seal's earlier
and ongoing operations in Mena.

The Barry Seal files are vindication for dedicated officials in
Arkansas and others who kept an all-too-authentic story alive amid
wider indifference. What happened to some nine different official
investigations into Mena after 1987, from allegedly compromised
federal grand juries to congressional inquiries suppressed by the
National Security Council in 1988 under Ronald Reagan, to still
later Justice Department inaction under George Bush?

Officials apparently invoked "national security" to quash most of
the investigations. Court documents do show clearly that the CIA
and DEA employed Seal in 1984-85 for the Reagan administration's
celebrated "sting" attempting to implicate thc Nicaraguan
Sandinista regime in cocaine trafficking.

Having assessed Seal posthumously for some $86 million in back
taxes on his huge smuggler's earnings from Mena and elsewhere
between 1981 and 1983, as his tax records show, even the IRS
forgave hundreds of millions in known drug and gun profits over
the ensuing two-year period when Seal was in effect moonlighting
for the U.S.  government. "... Worked for the DEA/CIA," an IRS
agent noted pointedly across one of the papers in a file on Seal's
taxes.

But to follow the IRS logic, what of the years, crimes and profits
at Mena in the early 1980s *before* Barry Seal became an
acknowledged federal operative, and then reported drug trafficking
activities at Mena even after his murder, crimes far removed from
his admitted cooperation as government informant and witness?
Government investigators apparently had no doubt about the scope
and magnitude of those crimes. According to U.S. Customs sources,
Seal's operations at Mena and other bases were involved in the
export of guns to Bolivia, Argentina and Brazil as well as the
contras, and the importation of cocaine from Colombia to be sold
in New York, Chicago, Detroit, St. Louis and other cities, as well
as in Arkansas itself.

Yet again and again over the years, lower level federal or state
law enforcement officers looking into the crimes of Mena found
themselves stymied by the apparent presence of the CIA or other
government involvement. "Joe [deleted] works for Seal, and cannot
be touched because Seal works for the CIA," as one U.S. Customs
official put it in an Arkansas investigation in the early 1980s.
"... A CIA or DEA operation is taking place at the Mena airport,"
an FBI telex advised the Arkansas State Police in August, 1987, 18
months after Seal's assassination.

Significantly, none of the putative inquiries into Mena seems to
have made a serious effort to gather even a fraction of the
available Seal documents now assembled and studied by the
authors.

In over 2,000 documents reflecting intimately a man of meticulous
organization and planning, careful about every detail, Barry Seal
seems to have felt singularly and utterly secure - if not somehow
invulnerable - at least in the air transport and delivery in the
U.S. of tons of cocaine, done ceaselessly for more than five
years. His most personal papers show him all but unconcerned about
the very flights and drops, say law enforcement sources, that
would indeed have been protected or "fixed" by the collusion of
U.S. intelligence.

If the Seal documents show anything, an attentive reader might
conclude, it is that ominous implication of some official
sanction. Over the entire episode looms the unmistakable dark
shape of U.S. government complicity in vast drug trafficking and
gunrunning, and in a decade-long cover-up of the criminality.

Clinton's Involvement

Finally, of course, there are somber questions about then-Gov.
Bill Clinton's own role *vis-a-vis the crimes of Mena. He has
acknowledged learning officially about Mena only in April, 1988,
though a state police investigation of Mena, reportedly amounting
to thousands of pages, had been in progress for several years, and
as the state's chief executive Clinton was customarily abreast of
such inquiries. In his one public statement on the matter as
governor in September, 1991, he spoke of that state police
investigation finding "linkages to the federal government" and
"all kinds of questions about whether he [Seal] had any links to
the CIA... and if that backed into the Iran-contra deal."

But then, inexplicably, Clinton did not at any time seize on the
issue or offer further support for any inquiry, "despite the
fact," as Bill Plante and Michael Singer of CBS News have written,
"that a Republican administration was apparently sponsoring a
contra aid operation in his state and protecting a smuggling ring
that flew tons of cocaine through Arkansas."

Moreover, what of the hundreds of millions generated by Seal's
Mena contraband? The Seal records reveal his dealings with at
least one major Little Rock bank. How much drug money from him or
his associates made its way into criminal laundering in Arkansas's
notoriously free-wheeling financial institutions and bond houses,
some of which are reportedly under investigation by the Whitewater
Special Prosecutor for just such large, unaccountable infusions of
cash and unexplained transactions? "The state offers an enticing
climate for traffickers... " IRS agents had concluded by the end
of the 1980s, documenting a "major increase" in the amount of
large cash and bank transactions in the state after 1985, despite
a struggling local economy.

Meanwhile, others who were prominent backers of Clinton over the
same years have themselves been subjects of extensive
investigative and surveillance files by the DEA and FBI similar to
those relating to Seal. "This may be the first president in
history with such close buddies who have NADDIS numbers," says one
concerned law enforcement official, referring to the Narcotics and
Dangerous Drugs Intelligence System numbers assigned those under
protracted investigation for possible drug crimes. The Seal
documents seem still more proof that for Clinton, the Arkansas of
the 1980s, and the company he kept there, will not soon disappear
as a political or even constitutional liability.

"I've always felt we never got the whole story there..." Clinton
said in his 1991 statement on Mena. Indeed. But as president of
the United States, he need no longer wonder - and neither does the
nation. On the basis of the Seal documents (copies of which are
being given to the Whitewater Special Prosecutor in any case), the
president should ask immediately for a full report on the matter
from what is now the CIA, DEA, FBI, Justice Department and other
relevant agencies of his own administration, including the
long-buried evidence gathered by Duncan and Welch. Clinton should
also offer full executive branch cooperation with a re-opened
congressional inquiry, and expose the subject fully, for what it
says of both our past and future.

As for Seal, he saw himself as a patriot to the end. He had
dictated his own epitaph for his grave in Baton Rouge: "A rebel
adventurer the likes of whom in previous days made America great."
In a sense, his documents may now render that claim less ironic
than it seems.

Jewish Pressure Forces Magazine to Shut Down

In the final chapter of a major international saga, the president
of one of Japan's most influential and prominent publishing houses
issued an apology to Jewish people and pulled a magazine that
claimed the Holocaust never happened.

In Tokyo, at a packed news conference on Feb. 2 with
representatives of the Simon Wiesenthal Center of Los Angeles,
Kengo Tanaka, president and CEO of Bungei Shunju Ltd., apologized
for causing the Jewish people "immeasurable pain" over an article
that appeared in its *Marco Polo magazine last month.

The 10-page article claimed "the German government never once
plotted or implemented the destruction of Jews." It said the gas
chambers at Auschwitz, where more than a million Jews reportedly
were killed, were communist fabrications and that Jews died there
only because of illness.

Rabbi Abraham Cooper, associate dean of the Los Angeles-based
Simon Wiesenthal Center, accepted the apology, but cautioned that
negative stereotypes about Jews remain common in Japan.

Mr. Tanaka ceased publication of the magazine amid international
protests led by the center, over the article titled "The Greatest
Taboo of Postwar History: There Were No Nazi Gas Chambers."

"As a country that hopes to become more international, Japan must
recognize the plight of Jews," Mr. Tanaka told about 400 members
of the press gathered at the Okura Hotel.

According to published reports, the conciliatory tone, however,
was broken by shouts of dissent from some observers, including
freelance journalist Aiji Kimura. Mr. Kimura defended the story
and demanded the company explain what was wrong with it.

"We felt very proud that business leaders around the globe spoke
out on behalf of the (Holocaust) victims," Rabbi Cooper said,
reached by phone at his Tokyo hotel room.

Rabbi Cooper was referring to a successful economic boycott
launched by the center in mid-January, which resulted in Cartier,
Mitsubishi Motors, Volkswagen and others canceling their
advertising. Rabbi Cooper charged the magazine's editors, all 16
of whom were fired, with timing the article to appear "at the very
moment" that world leaders gather at Auschwitz (Jan. 26, 27, 1995)
to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the death
camp in Poland.

Mr. Tanaka could not be reached for comment. But Ko Shaioya,
bureau chief and editor-at-large of the North American bureau of
Bungei based in New York, told *The Final Call that an
international news conference was "the best gesture of
atonement."

Reached by phone at Bungei headquarters in Tokyo a day before the
news conference, Mr. Shaioya said the publishers hoped to "restore
the damaged reputation and integrity of our company as a
responsible publishing house."

"I know our action is drastic, but it was meant to be drastic," he
said. "We wanted it to be an unmistakable apology. What happened
goes beyond sloppy editing. We'll take the pain of killing a
promising magazine because of the pain suffered by those victims."


In a separate news conference that same day, the article's author
himself, Masanori Nishioka, leveled criticism at Bungei's decision
to close the magazine. He charged that *Marco Polo was "crushed by
Jewish organizations using advertising, and Bungei obliged."

"They crushed room for debate," Mr. Nishioka said.

Rabbi Cooper said the Wiesenthal Center never asked Bungei to
close the magazine.

In a separate letter to Rabbi Cooper dated Jan. 30, Mr. Tanaka
stated that Japanese history and culture are so "widely different
and removed from those of Jews" that a proper perception of the
realities involving Jewish people will be possible only through
"an extensive educational effort with the assistance of
organizations such as yours."

As a conciliatory gesture, Mr. Tanaka further stated that among
the books published by Bungei was a translation of Anne Frank's
"The Diary of a Young Girl."

"Nearly five million copies were distributed," he said. "I hope
you will regard this as an indication that the latest matter was
an unfortunate aberration."

According to a Feb. 3 *Los Angeles Times article, books alleging a
Jewish conspiracy to control the world's economy have increased in
popularity with the declining Japanese economy - beginning with
the Plaza Accord in the mid-1980s, which drastically boosted the
yen's value and eroded Japan's international competitiveness, one
publisher said.

The publisher criticized Bungei's decision to close *Marco Polo,
saying it denies the public the right to hear another point of
view.

Federal Bureau of Instigation?

Attorney says FBI behind World Trade Centre bombing and the
'Muslim Conspiracy' trials

Ron Kuby, a partner of the renowned attorney William Kunstler, has
been the defense lawyer most involved in defending the people who
are being swept up in "Muslim conspiracy" trials which followed
the bombing of the World Trade Center in New York. Although the
government's official story keeps changing, with most of the media
following course, it remains clear, as has been reported in
previous articles by the present author, that the bombing of the
World Trade Center and the incitement of various people to commit
illegal acts is the responsibility of one Emad Salem, an FBI
informant and sometime Egyptian government operative. During an
interview with Kuby, the nature of the witch-hunts being directed
toward Muslims was clarified as he showed how the "conspiracy" was
of government origin, with informant, judge, prosecution and media
all dutifully playing their parts. He was interviewed by Husayn
Al-Kurdi, who has written previously on the case.

Husayn Al-Kurdi (Al-Kurdi): Was there anything in my previous
articles on the World Trade Center bombing and the subsequent
"conspiracy" trial that requires emendation, correction or
amplification?

Ron Kuby (Kuby): The article on the FBI being involved in the
World Trade Center bombing actually understated the evidence,
believe it or not. The informer, Emad Salem, is actually on tape
saying that he built the bomb that ultimately blew up the World
Trade Center. In addition, we have received information that he
was visually observed at the scene of the bombing shortly after
the bombing took place. Shortly after that, he was admitted to the
hospital, suffering from an ear problem that was consistent with
exposure to blast. Also, we know that he had a motive to blow up
the World Trade Center, the motive being that he had been dealing
with the FBI since at least November 1991, trying to convince the
FBI that he had infiltrated a cell of radical Muslims, trying to
get the FBI to pay him for his information. Indeed, within hours
of the bombing the FBI was back on the phone to him, promising him
anything and everything if only he would help them crack the case.
The FBI, having set this maniac loose, bears some of the
responsibility for what happened.

Al-Kurdi; When did Emad Salem start to work for them?

Kuby: We don't know precisely. We do know he was affiliated with
Egyptian intelligence for quite some time. The FBI officially
acknowledges that Emad Salem began to work for them in November
1991, during the trial of Sayyid Nosair, at which Nosair was found
not guilty of murdering Rabbi Meir Kahane. It was at that point
that Salem infiltrated himself into the group supporting Sayyid
Nosair. It was Emad Salem, as early as December of 1991, who was
telling groups of these people that they should become more
militant. At one point Emad Salem suggested that they throw
Molotov cocktails at a synagogue, to which the people listening
were absolutely horrified and were refusing to have anything to do
with him. After that, he sort of toned down his rhetoric.

Al-Kurdi: Reports have it that Sidig Ali, one of the defendants in
the next New York Muslim Conspiracy trial, is turning on everyone.
What's the score on that?

Kuby: The government got to him, through terror or promises or
both. They were able to get him and turn him into a government
witness. As a result, we no longer represent him. The government
is using that as a way of throwing us off the case entirely. There
is no doubt in my mind that the judge is going to do exactly
that.

Al-Kurdi: They used to point to Sidig Ali as the "mastermind." Now
Ramzi Yusef (not in captivity) is the "mastermind," according to
what they're putting out through the media.

Kuby: It varies with the season. Originally it was just the group
of four who blew up the World Trade Center, then it expanded and
contracted and expanded again.  It's one of those permanent crimes
- they just keep pasting new heads on their Wanted List. They
expect people to forget what was said just a week ago. They spent
a year trying to convince the American people that Sidig Ali is
the biggest terrorist who ever lived. Now they turn around and try
to portray him as some kind of born-again American patriot.

Al-Kurdi: Where does that leave the defense of Sheikh Omar Abdel
Rahman?

Kuby: It's an extremely serious event. By removing me and Kunstler
from the defense team, you were really removing the only lawyers
who weren't paid by the government. Sheikh Omar is representing
himself but was certainly counting on a collective group to work
with him in that self-representation. It was a blow struck at the
heart of the defense.

Al-Kurdi: There seems to be a trend now in which cases are
manufactured out of whole cloth and people are entrapped and
convicted on "conspiracy" charges.

Kuby: One frightening aspect from a civil liberties standpoint is
the increasing use of informers whose job it is not to simply
monitor or even just to observe and record illegal activities, but
who actually are out creating crime that would never have taken
place but for their own conduct.

Why is the FBI interested in going out and creating crime? The
answer is simple enough. In the aftermath of the World Trade
Center bombing, the FBI was facing ferocious criticism in the
United States. Remember that first you had the disaster at Waco
where these children were murdered in the course of this insane
shoot-out with these other religious "fundamentalists." Then you
had the World Trade Center bombing. All over the country, people
were wondering, "What's wrong with the FBI?" What the FBI had to
do was go out and create a crime which they could prevent, a crime
that would be so vast that it would make the World Trade Center
bombing pale by comparison. So they sent Emad Salem out to create
these crazy plots - blow up the United Nations and so on. At the
end, the FBI said "Lights, camera, action!" and had a huge press
conference at which they said, "We didn't save the World Trade
Center, but we prevented the bombing of the U.N., the Holland
Tunnel, the Lincoln Tunnel and the George Washington Bridge and
the assassinations of Al D'Amato and Boutros Boutros-Ghali." They
posed as Superman saving the world and everybody was
congratulating them. The papers the next day blared "New York
Dodges a Bullet" and proclaimed "FBI Heroism." People were
tragically misled by the FBI into believing that the FBI had in
fact prevented something from taking place when the only thing
they did was prevent the fruition of the very conspiracy that it
had created itself.

Al-Kurdi: What are the prospects for appeal on the convictions
from the first trial?

Kuby: Of course, we have filed notices of appeal for all four of
the defendants, but people have to understand that the courts in
this country are no more immune to the kind of hysteria and
anti-Islam sentiment that you see elsewhere in the country.
Instead of being the guarantors of fundamental constitutional
rights, too often we see these reactionary, and in many ways
stupid, judges toadying to the very worst in American society
rather than standing for the best in American society. The tragedy
in all of this is that we're making the same old mistake as when
we've interfered in the internal affairs of other countries,
supporting corrupt dictatorships like the Shah of Iran and Hosni
Mubarak against popular revolutionary forces. We fear those
popular revolutionary forces. The U.S. is buying hatred and enmity
for itself in places like Egypt. Why? If the people of Egypt want
to live under Islamic law, then by God that's their right. It is
not the business of the United States government to meddle in this
and dictate the kinds of government they should have.

Al-Kurdi: Ron, tell us something about your own background.

Kuby: I came from a working-class family in the state of Ohio. I'm
Jewish by religious background and when I was very young I
belonged to a right-wing Zionist paramilitary organization. It's
not widely known, but I was a member of the Jewish Defense League
(JDL) when I was a teenager. My father was a Zionist, I became a
Zionist. I knew Rabbi Meir Kahane - he was a family friend back in
the late 1960s and early 1970s, before he emigrated to Israel.

I suppose what cured me of that type of Zionism was actually
emigrating to Israel. I was expecting to see this paradise of Jews
working together, living in peace and harmony with neighbors,
building a country. Instead, what I saw was this terrible racist
country in which a small elite of Zionists controlled a Jewish
working class and terrorized the Palestinian population. It was
like being in the United States, except instead of the white
establishment it was the Jewish establishment. I found out that
the people I had more in common with, the people whose physical
company I enjoyed more, were the Palestinians. I ended up having
many more Palestinian friends than I had Zionist friends, and
eventually said "to hell with the whole thing" and ended up on the
road that I've ended up on.

Al-Kurdi: What can and should be done in terms of support for the
Sheikh and the others who have and are continuing to be railroaded
in these "Muslim Conspiracy" trials?

Kuby: The problem is that there has not been any organized Islamic
response to this situation, and others do not know or hear about
it much. Every time Muslims get together and try to raise a
protest, they end up getting indicted!

Al-Kurdi: Just to get it on the record once again: If there is a
"mastermind," then who is it?

Kuby: The "mastermind" is the government of the United States. It
was a phony, government-engineered "conspiracy" to begin with. It
would never have amounted to anything had the government not
planned it.

Why America Hates Qadhafi

Sanctions and embargoes are increasingly being used in
international conflicts as methods of warfare which frequently
produce horrifying results. In Bosnia, a long-standing embargo
prevented Muslims there from receiving arms and sustenance as Serb
and Croatian forces practiced genocide there for years. Iraq's
people are undergoing immense hardship due to the sanctions
imposed there. Thousands of people are going blind in Cuba due to
the quarantine imposed on that island nation by the United States.
Due to an external blockade, thousands of children, old people and
people with curable diseases are dying.

The Saharan country of Libya, located in the heart of North
Africa, has been subject to U.N. Security Council sanctions for
nearly three years. The pretext used for imposing these sanctions
is the alleged involvement of two Libyans in the bombing of Pan Am
Flight 103, which exploded over Lockerbie, Scotland, on Dec. 21,
1988, killing all 271 on board.

The context for the continuing assault on Libya is one in which no
country can decide its destiny for itself or disregard American
plans for the fate of its own people. Libya has formed a target of
opportunity for U.S. assaults since it broke the shackles of
dependence on Sept. 1, 1969. On that date, a revolution led by a
young junior officer named Mu'ammar Qadhafi succeeded in
overthrowing the Senoussi monarchy and announced its determination
to change the course of poverty, dependence and humiliation which
had been the lot of the Libyan people in this century.

Libya had experienced over three decades of Italian colonial rule
from 1912 until World War II, when the U.S.-led allies swept the
Italian and German presence out of North Africa. After the war,
Libya was granted independence, with King Idris installed as a
compliant regent with a demonstrated propensity to take orders
from the U.S. and Britain. The U.S. maintained a huge Air Force
base near Tripoli, the Libyan capital, with the British holding on
to their military barracks at Azizia.

When oil was discovered, the oil companies moved in to drive a
hard bargain with the monarch. The royal retinue would batten off
a small part of the proceeds while the conglomerates made off with
the wealth generated by Libya's new found natural resource. The
Libyan people, who had suffered to the tune of having over one
million of their number killed in the resistance to Italian
colonization earlier, continued to live in makeshift shacks and
lean-tos while a small, Westernized elite tried to emulate their
benefactors.

Mu'ammar Qadhafi brought a number of notions with him which were
unacceptable to "American interests." He propagated the idea that
all people have a right to self-determination, and should be
supported in their quest to realize sovereignty over themselves
and their lands. Oil wealth was not to be given -
away-to-multinational corporations abroad, but used to improve the
living standard of the nation's own people.

The inequities promoted by the Western powers were to be rejected
in favor of a society in which justice, equity and a high standard
of living for all citizens was to be built. Popular forms of
direct democracy, in which the entire population could participate
in decision-making, were created. In steps which would benefit the
country but simultaneously draw the wrath of the U.S. and others,
Libya nationalized the oil companies and drove the foreign bases
away from its soil. Wheelus Air Force Base, a major American
military installation located on the Mediterranean Sea just east
of Tripoli, was shut down.

To make matters worse for Libya, it chose to pursue an active
foreign policy entailing support for national liberation and
social justice movements around the world. All parties and groups
fighting for the liberation of apartheid South Africa were given
aid and training. Peoples ranging from the Muslim Moros of the
Philippines to the Indians of the Americas drew vocal and material
support from Tripoli, the Nicaraguan Sandinistas, Grenada's New
Jewel Movement led by Maurice Bishop, the IRA in northern Ireland,
the Basques, the Kurds, the Palestinians and many others found a
friend and a base of sustenance in the new Libyan Jamahiriya
("gathering of the people"). It was political and economic
defiance of the U.S. which put Libya and Qadhafi on the hit list
of those countries slated for death and destruction in what is now
called the "New World Order."

Libya has been repeatedly attacked ever since it took its bold
stand on behalf of those silenced majorities who suffer the
consequences of U.S. hegemony. American jets repeatedly attacked
Libya during the reign of Ronald Reagan. An attack on Tripoli and
Benghazi in April 1986 claimed more than one hundred lives,
including that of Qadhafi's stepdaughter. It was one of many
attempts made on the Libyan leader's life, all of them failing, as
his continued presence makes clear. The Libyan revolution is
hanging on after 25 years of resistance to constant attacks of all
sorts, ranging from internal CIA subversion to armed attacks over
it 10 cities.

The CIA and the State Department issued periodic scare stories
which are disseminated by their accomplice media to keep Libya in
the public eye as a "terrorist" threat to the well-being of
Americans. At one point in the build-up to the 1986 bombings,
Libyans were alleged to be infiltrating the U.S. via Tijuana to
assassinate Reagan and otherwise wreak havoc on America. Columnist
Jack Anderson was exasperated that he had been used as a conduit
for this false information, declaring that he had been "spooked by
the spooks." At other times, CIA disinformation had Libya
manufacturing chemical and even nuclear weapons, promoting all
forms of "terrorism" around the world and stirring up trouble
where there was none previously to be found.

Domestically, the Libyan experiment in social equity greatly
disturbed their ex-patrons. Such notions as "The house to those
who live in it" are anathema to a country that has over five
million homeless persons residing in it, as the U.S. does now. The
idea that emancipation from want, ignorance and injustice was to
be actually implemented somewhere is unacceptable to an entity
that foments poverty and dependence everywhere. Libya, a nation of
some four million people, over half of whom are under 15 years of
age and spread out over 680,000 square miles of Sahara
Desert-dominated North Africa had become a perpetual target for
the bellicose designs of the U.S.-led "New Order."

The Lockerbie Pan Am crash formed the most recent cover for action
against Libya. Even though all evidence pointed to Syria as being
the perpetrator of the bombing, and a Hollywood movie even made
the case against Syria and Iran, attention shifted to Libya as the
culprit when a tiny electronic chip was "found" by investigators
in April 1990, over 16 months after the calamity. This tiny,
thumbnail-sized chip was alleged to be part of the radio which
contained less than a pound of plastic explosive, enough to
scatter the contents of the plane over 845 square miles of
Scottish countryside.

It so happened that the U.S. was building its coalition to destroy
Iraq in Desert Storm at the time. Syria was one of the prime
components of the force, joining Egypt, the Gulf States and Saudi
Arabia in turning on their Arab compatriots, who had made the
mistake of ignoring U.S. wishes by annexing Kuwait. Iraq and
Saddam Hussein were the new targets of opportunity along with
Libya. All was forgiven with their new-found ally, Syria.

After "going over" the evidence once again, the investigators
decided to pin the blame for Pan Am 103 on Libya, specifically
charging two Libyan airline employees with involvement in the act.
The U.S. and U.K. further demanded that the two "suspects" be
handed over for trial to them. The Libyan government has refused,
suggesting the International Court of Justice as a fairer tribunal
to judge the case. What are termed "limited sanctions" have been
in place against Libya since April 15, 1992, served up by a United
Nations Security Council which is increasingly compliant with U.S.
demands.

Meanwhile the ongoing terrorism against Libya has continued
unabated. One hundred and fifty eight people perished in the crash
of a Libyan civilian airplane near Tripoli on December 22, 1992.
Twenty years earlier, another Libyan civil airliner was blown out
of the air over Egypt by Israeli forces. Continuing efforts to
organize and equip groups inside Libya to overthrow Qadhafi have
met with the usual lack of success. The Libyan people, especially
the younger generations, do not want to return to the
pre-Jamahiriya era in which squalor and misery prevailed. Giant
strides in education, housing, medicine and agriculture have taken
place in a country in which the literacy rate has increased
tenfold since the revolution.

The Libyan people are suffering as a result of the "limited"
sanctions. Thousands of people have not been able to travel abroad
for medical treatment of grave illnesses and have died as a
result. Hundreds of medical personnel have been prevented from
entering the country. Traffic accidents and deaths have doubled
due to the increase in highway traffic caused by the shutdown in
international air travel which the sanctions enforced. Over $1
billion has been lost to Libya in agricultural and livestock
production. In all, over 10,000 lives have been needlessly cut
short.

According to U.S. policies, the Libyan experiment can not be
allowed to work. It may influence others to emulate its example,
or, more precisely, set about their own independent course of
development. The sanctions weapon, used "successfully" in Cuba,
Iraq and Nicaragua in recent years, is a relatively "cost-free"
method of bringing populations to heel.

The danger of Arabs, Africans and Muslims getting together must
also be averted in the calculations of U.S. policy makers. Libya
happens, to be a nation whose people match all three descriptions.
It will remain a perpetual target of opportunity until it ceases
and desists in trying to create a just society at home and in
supporting struggling people around the world in their aspirations
for self-determination.

Who was Jim Jones?

While the mainstream media, influenced by Cult Awareness Network
propaganda, portray Jim Jones as an 'evil demagogue', a number of
independent 'conspiratologists' view Jones as a conscious agent of
the CIA. For these writers Jonestown was simply a CIA organised
slave labor camp and the People's Temple just an elaborate fascard
hiding a bizarre intelligence agency experiment.

Other researchers see Jim Jones as the victim of a U.S. government
operation. His People's Temple fleeing to Guyana to escape intense
U.S. government harassment.

Early years

The People's Temple began in 1954 as the Community Unity Church, a
multiracial Pentecostal-style congregation in Indianapolis,
Indiana. The church was founded by a twenty-three-year-old white
preacher, Jim Jones (1931-1978), who had made a name for himself
in Pentecostal circles throughout the United States as a healer
and prophet. By 1955, Jone's ministry had been renamed the
People's Temple Full Gospel Church and was attracting large crowds
for Sunday faith-healing services. Jones later insisted that the
healing dramas of his early ministry were conducted mainly to draw
people who could then be taught his more important messages of
apostolic social justice and equality. The young preacher's
efforts to promote interracial harmony were heralded by the
*Indianapolis Recorder*, a weekly Black newspaper, and earned
Jones the position of director of the Indianapolis Human Rights
Commission in 1961.

During the early 1960s the People's Temple set up soup kitchens,
distributed free groceries and clothing, and organised other
community programs. Jones was ordained as a minister in the
Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in 1964.

Religious scholar J. Gordon Melton points out that: "Jim Jones'
Peoples' Temple, labeled a `cult' after the deaths in Jonestown,
was in fact a congregation within mainline Christianity. It was a
full member of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) which in
turn is a member of the National Council of Churches.

"Liberal Protestants heralded it for its social action program,
and during the mid-1970s, several denominations such as the United
Methodist Church devoted an entire adult church school lesson to
extolling its virtues."

In 1961 Jim Jones had a vision in which the American Midwest was
destroyed in a nuclear war and moved his congregation to Ukiah,
California, shortly thereafter. By 1969 Jim Jones opened a large
complex called "Happy Acres" which contained a meeting hall, a
swimming pool, a child care facility, and a senior citizen
centre.

Jim Jones's ministry, which now claimed to have twenty thousand
members, expanded into Los Angeles and into the predominantly
Black Filmore district of San Francisco in the 1970's.

The spectacular growth of the People's Temple saw Jim Jones emerge
as an outspoken, uncompromising foe of U.S. imperialism. Through
evangelistic rallies and radio broadcasts Jones addressed
literally hundreds of thousands of people in cities all over the
United States. In simple, yet forceful language, Jim Jones exposed
the smug corruption, the blatant hypocrisy, the abuses, disgraces,
and contradictions of American capitalism. The vast congregation
of People's Temple helped plan and attended *en masse* countless
demonstrations in support of freedom movements, peace, and human
rights causes around the world.

The newspaper of the People's Temple *People's Forum*, which
reached over half a million people, tackled the sacred icons of
the U.S. Establishment provocatively asking: *"The Rockefeller
brothers - How they got their fortunes and increase them daily.
Their influence over U.S. policy. How does Henry Kissinger, e.g.,
hop right over from being Secretary of State to become a Board
member of the Chase Manhattan Bank?*

Jim Jones soon became the target of organised Establishment
opposition. He was attacked and threatened. His family members,
children, congregants were terrorised, beaten and spied on.
Attempts were made to infiltrate the organisation with
provocateurs. Peoples Temple was subjected to harassment, bogus
investigations, yellow journalism, and torrents of malicious
gossip and highly publicized lies.

Addressing a rally in 1977, just prior to the exodus of People's
Temple to the rural community in Guyana, Jim Jones, showing signs
of the covert harassment and media attacks, declared "just
remember there's nothing worse than putting someone in the corner
when they have tried to do righteousness..."

Jim Jones rallied his congregation with the vision that they were
pilgrims on a quest for enlightenment and safety. In Guyana they
would establish a community of their own - Jonestown - free from
the harassment and persecution they faced in North America. Here
at Jonestown they would fully practice Jone's dictim that "service
to my fellow man is the highest service to God."

Jonestown

In a statement he made to the Foreign Affairs Committee of the
U.S. House of Representatives, Rev. John Moore of the United
Methodist Church wrote:

"The people went to Jonestown with hope, hope which grew out of a
loss of hope in the U.S. There can be no understanding of
movements such as People's Temple and Jonestown apart from this
loss of hope. They migrated, because they had lost hope in any
commitment of the American people or the Congress to end racial
discrimination and injustice. They had lost hope in the people and
the legislature to deal justly and humanely with the poor...Older
people went to Jonestown hoping to become free of purse
snatchings, muggings, and the harshness of the urban scene. Some
young people hoped to learn new skills, or to become free from
pressures of peers in the crime and drug scenes. People went to
Jonestown to find freedom from the indignity our society heaps
upon the poor. They went with hope for a simple, quiet life...They
saw themselves leaving a materialistic society where things are
valued more than people. Many went as pioneers to create a new
community in the jungle. Still others saw in Jonestown a vision of
a new society, a wave of the future."

The leading Guyanese newspaper *Guyana Chronicle*, December 1977
had this to say about the Jonestown community:

"Some 800 people, all members of the Peoples Temple, are living at
the giant agricultural project at Jonestown, aiming at helping
Guyana with farming while also helping make Jonestown
self-sufficient in food and housing.

"At the area known as Jonestown, the Pastor and founder, the Rev.
Jim Jones, has come under fire from reactionary forces in the
U.S.A., who see the prosperous agricultural project and the
communal life enjoyed by its members there as a threat to the old
established order."

U.S. Attorney Charles Garry, who visited Jonestown on November 6,
1977, told *The Sun Reporter* on his return to the United States,
"I have been in paradise. I saw a community where there is no such
thing as racism." At a press conference in 1978 the prominent
civil rights lawyer Mark Lane stated: "I have been deeply
impressed with what I have seen there [in Jonestown]...It makes me
almost weep to see such an incredible experiment, with such vast
potential for the human spirit and soul of this country, be
cruelly assaulted by the [US government] intelligence
organisations..." On another occasion, Mark Lane called Jonestown
"the closest thing on earth like paradise I have ever seen."

Continued Persecution

The CIA and their allies launched an elaborate campaign against
Jim Jones and the Jonestown community. Shortly before Christmas
1977 the U.S. government stopped sending social security payments
to senior citizens at Jonestown. Reports appeared in the North
American press that a father of a member of People's Temple
publicly threatened to liberate his son from Jonestown using
mercenaries.

In his book *The Strongest Poison* Mark Lane tells how one
opponent of People's Temple admitted that "during September 1977
he had led a group of men armed with rifles and bazookas [to
Jonestown]... He said that a huge jet was standing by to carry all
of the children back to America... What they found [in Jonestown]
was about ten building and a clearing - no barbed wire, no guards
with automatic weapons, nothing like what they had been led to
expect. For two days, the invaders watched the compound and tried
to figure out what the hell was going on. The only guns they saw
were shotguns used to kill snakes."

Amid mounting tension and heightened fear of attack by hostile
forces the Central Committee of the Jonestown community held a
press conference, via shortwave radio, with journalists assembled
at San Francisco People's Temple centre.

>From the transcript of this press conference it is obvious that
the Jonestown community were a people under siege. In a desperate
attempt to end the harassment engineered by hostile U.S. agencies,
a People's Temple spokesman read a prepared statement. It said in
part: "Finally we would like to address ourselves to the affect
that we prefer to resist harassment and persecution even if it
means death...We affirm before we will submit quietly to the
interminable plotting and persecution of this politically
motivated conspiracy, we will resist actively putting our lives on
the line if it comes to that...We choose as our model not those
who walked submissively into gas ovens but the valiant heroes of
the Warsaw ghetto."

Clearly this was not the plea of a 'suicide cult'. Pushed into a
corner the people of Jonestown made a public declaration to resist
and if necessary, fight any aggression against their community.
Consequently late in 1977 a small security force was set up to
protect Jonestown. In a final, desperate bid to escape continued
persecution and avoid conflict Jim Jones announced that the people
of Jonestown had decided to leave Guyana and move to the Soviet
Union.

As part of the preparations to relocate to the U.S.S.R. People's
Temple developed close contact with the Soviet Embassy in Guyana.
On September 27, 1978 the Soviet Consul Fyodor Timofeyev made a
visit to Jonestown.

The Soviet Consul found a thriving community in the jungle of
Guyana. Dr. Nikolai Fedorovsky accompanied the Consul to
Jonestown. Jim Jones explained that they were expecting more than
a hundred new arrivals. "I am not sure they'll be able to get
through to us here," Jones told the Russian doctor. Adding
that:"Somebody must have it in for us over there, in the States.
Even the books, tools, and many other things reach us in an
unstable state. The same happens to the medical supplies we
receive from the USA. This must all be the job of the CIA."

Dr. Fedorovsky inspected Jonestown's medical dispensary. In *The
Jonestown Carnage*, he states "the pharmacy did not impress me
very much. Everything here was very much like in any other
pharmacy of this type. Later, after the terrible events in
Jonestown I tried to recall if there had been anything unusual
about it. Cyanide? No, I did not see any. Tranquillizers and
sedatives in tablets? Yes, I saw them, but only in moderate
quantities that did not arouse suspicion. And how many of these
preparations would be required to kill almost a thousand people?
All that did not hang together. And another discrepancy: where did
all those numerous ampule injectors come from, the ones which,
according to American newspapers, the victims of the Guyana
massacre used to inject the killer-poison?"

Dr. Fedorovsky's observations, detailed in the 1987 Soviet
Progress Press book *The Jonestown Carnage*, are significant.
After the massacre Guyanese troops reportedly discovered a large
cache of drugs, enough to drug the entire population of
Georgetown, Guyana. One footlocker contained 11,000 does of
thorazine, a dangerous tranquilizer. Drugs used in the notorious
CIA MKULTRA project were also found in abundance. Were these drugs
planted in Jonestown by the killers?

Back in the United States, *The Sun Reporter*, October 5, 1978
carried an article titled *People's Temple Strikes Back.
Conspiracy to Destroy Jonestown Charged*. The report announced
that: "People's Temple plans to launch a massive,
multi-million-dollar lawsuit against various government agencies,
which the temple says have conspired to disrupt its activities and
destroy its operation..."

Mark Lane was quoted as saying "the intelligence community in the
United States has participated in deliberate efforts to destroy
People's Temple, Jim Jones and Jonestown".

Lane said he thought the government targeted People's Temple
because its experiment in socialist living was an "embarrassment"
for the United States government. "Twelve hundred Americans have
fled to the jungles of Guyana in search of human rights and an
opportunity to lead fulfilling lives-opportunities that are not
available to them in the ghettos of America," Lane added.

Assassination

The last visitor to Jim Jones and the People's Temple in Jonestown
was U.S. Congressman Leo Ryan. Accompanied by reporters,
'concerned' relatives of Jonestown residents and People's Temple
lawyer's Mark Lane and Charles Garry, Leo Ryan arrived on November
17, 1978.

Congressman Ryan was warmly received at Jonestown and toured the
community. After dinner Ryan told the assembled crowd: "I can tell
you right now that by the few conversations I've had with some of
the folks here already this evening that...there are some people
who believe this is the best thing that ever happened in their
whole lives."

People's Temple member Richard Tropp told *Washington Post*
reporter Charles Krause that Jonestown was a living and working
experiment in how society should work. "I think it's a tragedy we
couldn't do it in the United States." Asked by Krause why he
thought the People's Temple was under attack in the U.S., Tropp
replied, "Because we believe there is some group, some force that
is working to disrupt and agitate against the People's Temple".
(*Guyana Massacre*)

Leo Ryan told Jim Jones that Jonestown was a "beautiful place" and
he found no proof of the allegations about the Temple which were
in circulation in the United States. Ryan and the rest of his
group left for the nearby airstrip. Charles Krause sums up the
results of the investigation into Jonestown:

"I rather admired Jim Jone's goals... The People's Temple hadn't
struck me as a crazy fringe cult... It seemed to me that the
People's Temple had a legitimate purpose, a noble purpose, and was
more or less succeeding... No one...had offered any proof that the
900 or so people at Jonestown were being starved, mistreated, or
held against their will... The hundreds of people still at
Jonestown, who had chosen not to defect, seemed ample proof that
they were relatively content." (*Guyana Massacre*)

Preparing to board a small aircraft for the return journey
Congressman Leo Ryan and some members of his entourage were shot
and killed. News of the assassination soon reached Jonestown,
panic swept the community.

What happened on the night of November 18? Genuine information was
supplied by those few people who survived the massacre and escaped
into the jungle. They said that Jim Jones had called a general
meeting of all the residents of Jonestown in order to set out a
course of action in the wake of Ryan's assassination.

Attorney Mark Lane, who was at Jonestown, told a November 20 press
conference in Georgetown, Guyana, that he counted 85 bursts of
semi-automatic weapons fire when the community gathered for the
supposed "mass suicide". Jim Jones shouted "Mother, mother,
mother, mother!" Lane said. "Then there was the first burst of
shooting." Lane said he and lawyer Charles Garry then fled into
the jungle, but they heard "lots of gunfire and people screaming,
including children".

Jim Jones was found days later at the foot of his chair in the
centre of the meeting hall. He had been killed by a gunshot to the
head. Surrounding him were dead bodies of hundreds of members of
People's Temple.

Prof. I.R. Grigulevich, a distinguished Member of the USSR Academy
of Sciences, after studying the Jonestown massacre wrote:"The
United States has closed the case of the People's Temple by
dismissing it as 'one of those irrational episodes in our mad
world'. A thousand political protestants were declared 'votaries
of a cult of death', a bunch of lunatics who committed an
unparalleled act of mass suicide. This version which had been
tailored long before the Jonestown massacre not only made it
possible to conceal the crime but also to use it for discrediting
the People's Temple: it was labled a 'sect of suicides' and was
formally disbanded.

"In spite of the incontestable proof that the Jonestown commune
had been deliberately destroyed, the authorities in
Washington...did not stir so much as a finger to conduct a fair
and objective investigation into the tragic death of several
hundreds of their fellow-countrymen. On the contrary, the
authorities in Washington went to great pains to put the lid on
the whole thing.

"The Jonestown massacre was part of an extensive complex of
actions undertaken by U.S. punitive agencies (Operation 'Chaos'
and others), whose goal was to clamp down on political movements,
such as the Black Panthers, the Weathermen, the New Left, etc. To
carry out this program, the CIA set up a highly secret group
concerned with 'special operations'...

"We hope that now everybody will know about the act of savagery
committed by the American imperialists in Guyana in order to
suppress political dissent, to kill those who dared to build a new
life free from the omnipotence of capital. The crime committed by
the CIA laid bare the monstrous hypocrisy of the Washington
administration which spares no words about defense of human
rights. It was the Washington administration that gave the
go-ahead for the extermination of people in the Guyanese jungles,
those men and women for whom human rights became a reality only
after they had made a clean break with the American capitalist
system.

"The political refugees from the United States were killed because
they had thrown down the gauntlet to the oppressive regime in the

The Solar Temple: Victims of Secret Government Plot?

The tragic deaths of 53 adults and children associated with the
Solar Temple, an esoteric secret society headquartered in
Switzerland, were in the world's headlines in October 1994.

The press reports only went so far in trying to understand the
causes of the tragedy. An apocalyptic world view, an authoritarian
group structure, an increasingly erratic leader with a persecution
complex, and dark hints of gun running and money laundering were
all raised by way of explanation.

The authoritative U.S. journal *Gnosis* in its current edition
(Winter 1995) carries a special dossier on the history and beliefs
of the Solar Temple. The dossier also includes complete
translations of the Temple's final statements.

*Gnosis* publisher Jay Kinney explains that "just prior to the
mass deaths, Solar Temple leaders gave one follower sealed
envelopes to be sent to major press organizations. These envelopes
contained copies of four related statements from the Temple
explaining their own rationales for their suicides. Since none of
the press to our knowledge has seen fit to publish these
statements (apart from a few brief quotations), the group's
actions have remained more mysterious than necessary, lending
confusion to most attempts to understand the tragedy."

The following extracts are taken from Jay Kinney's analysis of the
Solar Temple's final documents:

"It is the fourth document, entitled "To Lovers of Justice," which
is the most disturbing. It is a lengthy complaint against the
Canadian authorities who were responsible for the prosecution of
Luc Jouret and other Solar Temple members on gun charges and
allegations of involvement in terrorism. This attention from the
Security Guard of Quebec eventually led to Jouret's move back to
Europe and obviously heightened the tension within the group,
adding to the sense of persecution and crisis.

"The document refers to two articles appearing in the Australian
magazine *Nxus New Times*. One was about little known U.S. federal
police forces (including the Multi Jurisdictional Task Force, the
Financial Crimes Enforcement Network, the Bureau of Alcohol,
Tobacco, and Firearms, and the Federal Emergency Management
Agency). The other, included in photocopied form along with the
statements, was about the FBI and BATF's August 1992 shootout in
Idaho with Randy Weaver. The Solar Temple document draws a
parallel between the U.S. government's pursuit of unconventional
believers (Koresh and Weaver) on gun charges and the Quebecois
pursuit of Jouret and the Solar Temple.

"Towards the end of the document, accusations are made that the
actions against the Solar Temple were materminded by another
secretive group, the conservative Catholic society Opus Dei.

"Thus the scenario of the Templars' original destruction at the
hands of the Inquisition and the Crown in the fourteenth century
was updated to provide the explanation for the recent woes of the
Solar Temple: Catholics (Opus Dei) and the Crown (in the form of
the Security Guard of Quebec) were to blame once again. One can
almost hear the distant echoes of Jacques de Molay's voice in the
order's proclamation: "Men, cry not over our fate, but rather cry
for your own."

"We will leave it for investigative reporters and conspiracy
researchers to puzzle out whether there was any truth to the Solar
Temple's claims."

Total Freedom

Humanity has never been in greater need of real freedom. The
modern consumer-based world thrives on the great illusion that we
are all 'free', when in fact the peoples of the modern age are in
bondage. Freedom is just a word, a quaint but useful notion to
justify contemporary forms of slavery. It matters little whether
people are under the rule of the 'right' or the 'left', capitalism
or communism, liberal democracy or dictatorship, they are not
really free.

Humanity is in bondage and cries out for deliverance. Political,
economic and social freedom can never be permanently realised or
guaranteed unless the individual is spiritually free. One cannot
really separate spiritual and material freedom. They stand or fall
together.

One of the most notable affirmations of incontrovertible freedom
is found in the words of the aged Socrates before his judges: "Men
of Athens, I honour and love you; but I shall obey God rather than
you.... While I have life and strength I shall never cease from
the practice and teaching of philosophy, exhorting anyone whom I
meet, and saying to him after my manner, You, my friend-a citizen
of the great and mighty and wise city of Athens-are you not
ashamed of heaping up the greatest amount of money and honour and
reputation, and caring so little about wisdom and truth and the
greatest improvement of the soul, which you never regard or heed
at all? (*Apology, 29*).

Freedom necessitates free will, but will can only operate when
there is a first motive. No motive, no willing, but motive is a
matter of belief. You would not want to do anything unless you
believed it possible and meaningful. Belief must be belief in the
existence of something, that is to say, it must concern what is
real. Ultimately, true freedom depends upon the real. Martin Lings
observed, "The desire for freedom is above all the desire for God,
Absolute Freedom being an essential aspect of Divinity" (*Ancient
Beliefs and Modern Superstitions*).

Conditioning

However, from the moment of birth the individual is conditioned
with innumerable notions that they are told (mostly without
explanation) are reflections of truth or the very truth itself.
Parents, friends, teachers, police, scientists, journalists and
priests, all bombard us with beliefs, concepts and rules that we
are to accept, follow or obey because they are 'true'. It is not
long before the thinking person starts to question. Asking, "What
is truth" and the answer is either some pusillanimous, illogical
hocus-pocus, or that big lie that all truth is 'relative'. The
world order embraces these conceptions. On a rudimentary level we
are told that some naive concepts, usually designed for social
control, are true, while at a higher level the Establishment
inculcates - as an axiomatic reaction to this nonsense - that we
must accept that there is no absolute truth. All is relative. All
is to be embraced and accepted as long as it is within the
parametres set by the Establishment. Now this dominant
all-powerful belief that there are no absolutes, that there is no
ultimate truth, just this vague personalised relative truth, is a
most subtle form of mass conditioning and thought control.

What we identify as the 'Establishment,' the 'world order,' the
international ruling power-elites, have been working for centuries
to draw the noose around the neck of humanity. They have utilised
various means and agencies to gain total control by encouraging
drug use, manipulating the world economy through international
finance and banking, and, above all, by *demoralizing* everyone
with a worldview in which all truth is relative. The dominant
power-elites have set the value system, the conception of reality
and the standard of truth for the people.

Stripped of an overriding sense of the Absolute, of ultimate Truth
and a higher Reality, society falls into the chaos of depravity,
degeneracy and atrophy. The resulting social vacuum of meaningless
and despair is soon filled by a rootless conformity to the lowest
common denominator. Such a society crucifies creativity and
suffers a terminal illness because its art, its literature, its
culture springs from the consensus view that ultimately the
individual cannot make much of an impression on life or society;
he is helpless, a mere member in the crowd, an insignificant cog
in the machine of life.

But there is another dimension to this loss of meaning and values
that most people do not see. A society that loses its creativity,
purpose and meaning through its rejection of absolutes is an
easily controlled and manipulated society. The ruling power-elite
can dominant this society and offer arbitrary absolutes, and who
will stand in its way? Thus the Establishment justifies its power
and keeps the masses firmly in bondage.

Plato and Aristotle

By way of history we find that it was Plato who pioneered the
study and application of Absolute Truth. The central illustration
of Plato's thinking is the allegory of the Cave. The rudiments of
this story are that in a large subterranean cave there are
prisoners who have been confined there since childhood. They are
made to sit in a long row facing one of the walls of the cave, and
they are chained by the legs and neck so that they can only see in
front of them. Hence, when people outside the cave walk past the
shadows reflected by these people form what the prisoners perceive
as reality. When they hear sounds they attribute these sounds to
the shadows. They have no idea that these shadows are only
reflections of reality. Only forms and apparitions, but the
prisoners of the Cave are convinced they are real. If we took one
of these prisoners out of the Cave the pain of the sun on his eyes
would be immense. It would take sometime for him to adapt to the
Reality and realise the illusion of the shadows. One may return to
the Cave or even go mad finding the truth "too much" for his Cave
conditioned mentality. Or he may return to explain to his friends
what he has found whereupon he is declared mad or even evil. What
is perceived and accepted by most people as reality is just a
distant  reflection of the One Reality. The shadows are illusions
and not the Truth itself.

Martin Lings writes: "If we reflect for a while upon Plato's
image, as he certainly intended us to do, it is clear that
pre-eminent among those who escape from the cave and then return
to it are the Divine Messengers, the founders of religions, some
of whom were never prisoners but simply descended from above. In
either case their mission is always to tell the inmates of the
cave about the sun and the moon, about men and women, animals and
birds, trees and flowers, according to their full dimensions, how
wonderful they are in shape and in colour; and some of the
prisoners drink in their words and are filled with longing to
escape from the world of shadows into the real world, but many of
them are angry, maintaining that the Prophets are madmen or
dreamers, and that the shadows of the puppets are the highest
realities that exist.

"In the light of this image it will be seen that the difference
between the believer and the sceptic is not as the difference
between the imprisoned and the free but as between two prisoners,
one of whom is conscious of his imprisonment whereas the other
refuses to admit that this world is a prison, because his thoughts
stop short at his prison walls."

Throughout history we can see an opposition between the schools of
thought devoted respectively to Plato and Aristotle. At the
collapse of medieval society, Aristotle, the philosopher of
observation and the scientific method, vanquished Plato, the
Metaphysician, logician of the ultimate Reality.

Aristotle, the father of our modern age, concentrated on getting
specimens and classifying them to see what rules he could discern.
He concerned himself, to use Plato's example, with observing the
'shadows' or 'reflections' of Reality believing they approximated
Reality itself. The heirs of Aristotle inevitably brought forth
rationalism and materialism, building up societies and nations *ad
hoc*, in accordance with practical considerations such as power
and profit and loss.

Plato's famous theory of Ideas has never been concerned with
mundane, debased profit and loss. The Idea possesses of itself a
real existence in a supermundane world. The supreme Idea being
that of the Good. From this it follows that because Plato was
concerned about the Good, he was also concerned about the Good
Society. Because he was concerned about the Ideal, he was
concerned about the Ideal State.

The significant truths of existence are present *a priori in the
mind and do not arise from sense experience. The world of the
mundane, of the senses is in constant flux, but as a person
withdraws from the life of the senses, they become aware of the
ideas or universal essences that are eternal and unchanging and
that alone yield knowledge that is permanent and reliable.

Of all Plato's dialogues, *The Republic* is the most famous. This
work raises the question, "What is justice?" Central to Plato's
way of answering this question is the postulate that there are
parallel structures in the individual and in a society. Both are
tripartite, having three levels. The highest of these is reason,
the faculty by which we can Know the eternal Ideas; below that is
the "spirited" part, characterized by courage and enterprise;
below that again lies a multitude of passions and desires,
clamoring for gratification. In the soul of the just person, these
three parts are in harmony.

The Platonic view led to the conviction that Man *is* capable of
first-hand knowledge regarding the essential nature of things
human and divine, and that the attainment of such direct,
immediate and absolute knowledge is the greatest hope and promise
of our existence.

Plato worked to liberate man through the development of a social
order that was based on truth. In contrast, Aristotle collected
the constitutions of the Greek city-states and studied them to see
what was the most practical form of government. Aristotle's
conception led men to remain content with second hand knowledge
derived from the testimony of others whereas Plato's view
encouraged the individual to become a *Knower* of the Ultimate
Reality.

Here we have the clear distinction between what became two
different worldviews. Only one can guarantee true freedom, for
only one seeks the real beyond the shadows. The other condemns
humanity to various degrees of bondage in a never ending search
after the fleeting forms. One encourages direct personal
experience of truth, while the other gives rise to a narrow
consensus view with its resulting blind faith and mere belief
based on hearsay.

In their search, 'Platonists' look beyond the illusory world of
the senses for the eternal, universal, metaphysical absolutes.
Those who instead emphasise the 'emperical' approach have come to
be known as 'Aristotelians.' This latter group has produced this
centuries two dominant materialist twins, i.e. Marxism and liberal
capitalism.

To understand the world around us, its much-vaunted science and
so-called philosophy, we have to realise how certain thinking is
used to keep the masses subdued on a relativist merry-go-round and
in unconscious slavery to the ruling power-elites.

By accepting this relativism and ignoring the search for the real,
the whole natural balance of things becomes chaotic. People are
left prey to an ocean of shifting sands and the tyranny of the
consensus reality determined by the Establishment. 'Freedom,' like
all else, becomes an illusion that the paternalistic State warmly
assures us of.

The Cosmic Battle

Examining the Roots of the Ultimate Conspiracy

"Truth did not come into the world naked, but it came in types and
images. One will not receive truth in any other way." - Gospel of
PhilipThe god of this world and the image of deity most persons
hold to, is Satan the Devil. This may be a shocking and disturbing
statement. Certainly, it may be equally shocking to learn that
human kind's real origin was outside the Earth, and is certainly
not terrestrial. Yet is it true? Truthful knowledge, the
acquisition of which may be painful or unpleasant, is always
preferable to so called blissful ignorance that in the end
destroys totally.

The apocryphal Gospel of Thomas records Jesus as declaring: "Let
him who seeks continue seeking until he finds. When he finds, he
will become troubled. When he becomes troubled, he will be
astonished, and he will rule over the All."

In this article we want to draw together a few scattered facts
pertinent to human kind's beginnings and start to unravel a vast
'conspiracy' to keep us blind to our true origin and destiny.

God of this World

Satan, the Adversary, the devil, is the god of this world. From a
study of the Christian Gospels we are left in no doubt that this
was the teaching of the followers of Jesus Christ. In the Gospel
of Matthew we read how Jesus was promised earthly power and glory
if He would worship the Adversary (see Matthew 4:8-10).
Contemporary Christians pass over the essential message of these
verses: Satan, the Adversary, has the rulership of the material
world.

The impartial reader cannot fail to be struck by the implications
of Jesus Christ's statements such as: "I testify of the world that
the works thereof are evil" (John 7:7); "Ye are of this world, I
am not of this world" (John 8:23); "The prince of this world is
judged" (John 11:18); "Ye [His disciples] are not of the world,
but I have chosen you out of the world," "I pray not for the world
but for them which Thou hast given me, for they are mine" (John
17:9); "They are not of the world even as I am not of the world"
(John 17:16).

When Jesus was before Pilate he declared, "My kingdom is not of
this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my
servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews..."
(John 18:36).

Throughout the Gospels we see the quite prominent antithesis that
Jesus makes between his Father and "the Prince of this world."
This was preserved in the traditional orthodox baptismal formula,
where the candidate renounces the world and the flesh along with
"the Devil."

Early documentary evidence of such beliefs among the first
followers of Christ may be found in the writings of Ignatius,
disciple of the Apostle John and bishop of the Ekklesia
(community) in Antioch, who was martyred in Rome in 107.

In his short epistle to the Ephesians Ignatius wrote: "Be ye not
anointed with the bad odour of the doctrine of the prince of this
world; let him not lead you away captive from the life which is
set before you." Apparently this was a subtle allusion to the
odour of burnt offerings in the deluded worship of the god of this
world. He further wrote of "the powers of Satan...and the
destruction at which he aims." Also in his epistle to the Romans
he says: "The prince of this world would fain carry me away, and
corrupt my disposition towards God." In the long version of
Ignatius's epistle to the Trallians he definitely identifies "the
prince of this world" as "the devil".

Again, The Epistle of Barnabas affords similar evidence. Clement
of Alexandria and other early writers unanimously ascribed this
epistle to the Apostle Barnabas, the companion of Paul. Barnabas
warns his fellow-Christians that the days are evil and that Satan
possesses the power of this world.

The first Christians believed and taught that Satan is the ruler
of the material world with the power to dispose of this world's
goods (Luke 4:6). He is identified as the prince of this world
(John 12:31), and god of this world (II Corinthians 4:4).

Standing in opposition to God the Father, Satan is known as the
slanderer (diabolos), from which is derived the English devil, and
the Arabic, Iblis. The Bible speaks of Satan as the old serpent
(Revelation 12:9), embodying all evil and wickedness, and full of
conspiracies to keep humans enslaved to illusion, in ignorance of
truth, and in love with self and the world.

Today, Christianity has largely relegated Satan to the confines of
a mythical image of evil, or at best, a bizarre metaphysical being
held responsible for leading people into transgression of ethical
and moral codes. Unfortunately, few Christians understand the
implications of the teaching of the Christ, that Satan is the god
of this world to whom 'fallen' humanity is in bondage.

The first Christians believed that evil was a truly real force,
not merely the privation of some good. Identifying this evil power
as the "Adversary", "Devil", "Satan", the "Serpent" and "god of
this world", they saw the 'fallen' material world as a source of
sin and corruption, that was to be avoided. Paul wrote to the
Romans, "For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually
minded is life and peace" (Romans: 8:6). The true or inner Man
naturally longs for his true home (see Hebrews 11:13-15). He is
trapped by his ignorance and blindness in a world of corruption
and ruination: in the material world.

Evil is not to be considered in terms of physical, moral or social
ills. What people may regard as crimes and vile acts, are not the
essential evils. However, they may be the fruit of evil. Jesus
stated that publicans and harlots - the most despised people of
His day - would enter the kingdom (Matthew 21:31). He forgave the
adultress, and promised paradise to the thief on the cross. Yet,
He said that "whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath
committed adultery with her already in his heart" (Matthew 5:28).
The evil is lust, the outcome adultery.

The struggle between the powers of good and evil in the invisible
world precede all earthly crimes and unrighteousness. Christ
exposed the real character of evil. "No one can know what evil
is," wrote Emanuel Swedenborg, "unless he knows what the love of
self and the love of the world are."

Satan, the Devil, the Adversary and the Serpent, all personify the
one principle - spiritual rebellion, the spirit of selfishness,
the ultimate separation from the source of light and life.

Between Good and Evil

Turning to the New Testament Gospel of John, chapter 8, verse 21,
we find that Jesus quite plainly told the corrupt religious
leaders of His day, "whither I go, ye cannot come." Reading on we
discover in verses 22 to 23:

"Then said the Jews, 'Will He kill Himself? because He saith,
'Whither I go ye cannot come.'"

"And He said unto them, "Ye are from beneath; I am from above: ye
are of this world; I am not of this world."

Jesus the Christ here distinguishes two basic patterns; one from
"above" (the heavenly realm) and one from "below" (the Earth).
This is the very same profound truth we discover in the Essene
Manual of Discipline where there is a clear distinction between
the Sons of Light and the Sons of Darkness. In the 3rd chapter of
John, Jesus tells Nicodemus that no one shall see the Kingdom of
God "unless he is born again." As any good Biblical reference book
will show, the word mistranslated as "again" should be correctly
rendered "above". Indeed, "I tell you the truth, no one can see
the kingdom of God unless he is born from above." (John 3:3)

Now the central themes of Jesus's ministry were certainly not
'new'. They were in fact a re-instatement and revolutionary
reaffirmation of the Ancient Wisdom teachings that have their
source in primordial antiquity.

Recall that centuries before the birth of Christ, Zoroaster
prophesied of the coming of an 'Anointed One'. He also instructed
his disciples that this Saviour would be born of a virgin, that
they would be the first to hear of him, and that they should bring
him gifts.

Zoroaster, like Akhnaton in Egypt before him, taught of one
supreme deity whom he called Dyaus Pitar, or "Heavenly Father".
Jesus the Christ repeatedly identified the Most High God as the
"Heavenly Father", instructing His disciples to direct their
prayers to "Our Father" in Heaven. Searching the Old Testament we
do not find Yahweh addressed in this manner! Christ was obviously
drawing on an older, forgotten, or suppressed Tradition.

In his reform of the religion of the early Iranians, Zoroaster
also called the one and only God, "Ahura Mazda", the Lord of
Enlightenment or Truth, who had prepared a "Paradise", which was a
term in the Iranian sacred writing the Avesta for heavenly realm,
for all those who sought to do His Will. Zoroaster's moral and
ethical teachings were of the highest order. He taught that Truth
was the prime attribute of the Heavenly Father and the essential
basis of Good; that the Lie, in leading men away from the Truth,
was the primary source of all evil; that men should seek the Right
through Truth, and reject lying and deceit. He taught that there
were sinister influences in the material world which issued from
an evil source, and strove to mislead humanity by lies and deceit;
and that it was the allotted task of men to overcome and dissipate
these evil influences by Truth.

The prophet Zoroaster also taught that in addition to the Supreme
Lord Ahura Mazda, the ruler of the celestial realm, the God of
Light, Wisdom and  Order, the source of life and immortality, the
creator of all things good or spiritual; there was Ahriman, the
Evil One. Ahriman was identified as the Prince of the Air in this
world, possessing the power of death, destruction and chaos, the
source of matter and darkness.

Ahura Mazda, in the sacred Avesta writings, is the supreme,
monotheistic deity who will in due course triumph utterly over
evil, which derives from a lesser, inferior source. Ahura Mazda,
the Most High God of Light, created the race of Aria of pure
light. Ahriman, the Prince of Darkness, prompts the fall of the
Aria by drawing them into flesh bodies. The Aria also worship the
sun as the paramount symbol of their Heavenly Father, the God of
Light. Ahriman makes it so the sun burns them. Ahriman presides
over the Children of Darkness or Serpents, who are a race of
demons. The Aria await a Saviour who will facilitate their return
to the celestial realm and believe in a righteous judgement at the
end of the age.

Dr. Martin Larson writes that, "The permanent contribution of
Zoroastrianism to European life and culture has come to us through
its enormous influence upon the Gospel Jesus via the Essenes."
(The Story of Christian Origins) We discover the very same
Tradition that was central to the Zoroastrian Avesta in the later
Essene writings. And as Dr. Frank M. Cross observed, "there are
intimate parallels between the Essene and primitive Christian
communities."

The Two Ways

The Gospels reveal that Jesus always drew a sharp line between the
wicked and the righteous. Every human being is a Child of Light or
a Child of Darkness. No man can serve two masters: either we will
love material things, and pursue them as our principle objective
in life, and in so doing will necessarily lie, cheat, and exploit;
or we will renounce all these hollow and transitory material
illusions, love the Heavenly Father with heart and soul, and
renounce all evil.

These are the same two ways found in Zoroastrianism,
Pythagoreanism, and expounded in the Essene Manual of Discipline,
The Testaments, and The Didache. They shaped the metaphysical and
ethical outlook of the early Christian Church.

The Didache or The Teaching of the Twelve Apostles, was a manual
used by the first generation followers of Jesus Christ and was
also known as The Two Ways. The manuscript itself, nearly one
thousand years old, was a copy of another probably completed about
100 A.D.; while this, in turn, is believed to be a recension of a
Hebrew composition that may date back to 40-55 A.D.

The importance of this writing to the first Christians is
summed-up by Dr. Martin Larson:

"So here in this primitive Didache, we find in brief scope the
ethics, the economics, the sacraments, the discipline, the
organization, and the eschatology of the pristine Church as these
had evolved from Essenism into the apostolic communions." (The
Story of Christian Origins)

The Clementine Homilies contain a book called The Circuits of
Peter, written around 200 A.D. This book is in the form of a
debate between the Apostle Peter and the 'sorcerer' Simon. This
polemic provides an enlightening insight into several central
themes of the early Church, and is believed to be complete with
only minor alteration.

Peter declares that the Prophet of Truth [Jesus the Christ] taught
(as we see in The Didache and in the Essene Manual of Discipline)
that there are two kings, two kingdoms, two kinds of people, and
two ways of life. On the one hand, there is Satan who is the ruler
of this world and who carries on his work in order that the Elect
may become manifest; and, on the other, there is the God of the
universe who will ultimately take unto Himself those whom He now
calls.

On the one hand, there is the present brief life, in which Satan
gives all good things to his servants at the price of eternal
loss; but there are also the Sons of God who renounce this world
and all its goods in favor of everlasting life. The Elect, the
Sons of the Most High God, are the children of the celestial
kingdom and are literally aliens living in the land of the enemy.
The world being the domain of the Children of Darkness. (see The
Story of Christian Origins)

Revisiting Genesis

How does all this relate to the genesis of the human race?

Prehistorians, blinded by modern age materialism, see mankind's
'ancestral' Homosapiens evolving from the level of the
anthropoids, making flint tools, and then laboriously climbing the
steps of 'progress' to our day. However, all humans, whether they
be American Indians, Polynesians, Africans, Chinese, Japanese or
Europeans, have always maintained that they came from elsewhere,
that their origins are not terrestrial!

"Human beings," writes Brinsley Le Poer Trench, "have forgotten
where their real home is, where their fathers reside, and are
playing the role of prodigal sons, immersed and enmeshed in the
delusion and unreality of chemical life. Humanity is playing with
shadows." (Forgotten Heritage)

Indeed, the British author Le Poer Trench was also quite correct
when he wrote that the Biblical creation story of Adam and Eve was
only "one of many visits to Earth from advanced civilisations".
Numerous writers and researchers such as W. Raymond Drake, Richard
Mooney, Robert Charroux and Maurice Chatelain who a decade ago
wrote a book called Our Ancestors Came from Outer Space, highlight
this in a stream of pop paperbacks. While these books are
overlaid, to varying degrees, with a number of modernist
absurdities, they contain a profound kernel of solid truth, i.e.
that human beings originated "as a result of colonization from
elsewhere in space, and, further, that all civilizations we know
were founded upon the wreckage of an earlier, greater culture
which was destroyed." (Colony Earth)

To again quote Robert Mooney's Colony Earth: "Homo sapiens appear,
suddenly, out of the blue, complete, intelligent, with clothing,
weapons, fire. With a curious mythology that owes nothing to an
animal ancestor, and with an ability that, at the beginning, is at
least equal to that of today."

Does this explain why every civilization of antiquity - including
ancient Egypt and Sumer - seems to have appeared fully formed?
Archaeologist P.J. Wiseman says:

"No more surprising fact has been discovered by recent excavation,
than the suddenness with which civilization appeared in the world.
It was expected that the more ancient the period, the more
primitive would excavators find it to be, until traces of
civilization ceased altogether and aboriginal man appeared.
Neither in Babylonia nor Egypt, the lands of the oldest known
habitations of man, has this been the case." (New Discoveries in
Babylonia about Genesis)

The Sumerians, the Mayan people, the Chinese, the Japanese, the
Celts, the Scandinavians, the Hopi Indians of North America, and
indeed, practically every people in the world has its own tale of
a time of contact with forces outside our tiny planet.

Can these 'troubling' findings be reconciled with the Biblical
creation story? Further, is there a correlation between the
constant theme of Good verses Evil found in all the Religions of
antiquity, and the genesis of humanity?

Man's Hidden Origins

A number of writers postulate that in keeping with that body of
inner or esoteric wisdom handed down from remote times, Etherian
Beings, hermaphrodites, descended from 'the great beyond' millions
of years ago to populate the now lost continent of Lemuria. W.
Raymond Drake states, "after many ages under terrestrial
conditions their bodies gradually materialised to coarser
vibrations...male was separated from female." This stage
corresponds to the sixth day creation of Genesis where we read:

"And Elohim created man in His own image, in the image of Elohim
created He him, male and female created He them. And Elohim
blessed them, and Elohim said to them, Be fruitful and multiply
and fill the earth and subdue it..." (Genesis 1:27-28)

Note that the sixth day creation was formed by the simple Word of
the Elohim. Both male and female created He them, for the purpose
of experiencing material embodiment and providing physical
vehicles for future spiritual evolution.

"Many anthropologists," writes Richard Mooney, "who realize that
traditional views of a direct transition from ape to man are
largely untenable, are now suggesting that the various apelike
forms are 'experimental types,' and from these earlier models,
Homo sapiens developed as a separate species."

Further, in the antiquities of yesterday we learn, from the
records of ancient Atlantis and the traditions that moved from
Lemuria throughout all Asia, that 'ultraterrestrial' intervention
was responsible for bringing civilization to Earth.

They were the Elohim, or the Celestial Family of God, who came to
teach the sixth day creation and instruct the first Priest-Kings
of Atlantis. This was the Golden Age of mythology when "gods
walked with men". These Sons of the God of Light had auras which
were visible to the Earth people of those days. In remembrance
ever since, the righteous saints are always depicted surrounded by
haloes and earthly Kings have worn artificial haloes, golden
crowns.

Arcane traditions tell of these 'Lords of the Flame' descending to
Earth in ships or disks of light. Today, in our materialist age,
they would be misrepresented as mere "extraterrestrials" coming in
spaceships or UFOs. This is because, at the end of the Dark Age,
we have lost the ability to properly identify these mysterious
disks of light.

On Earth during this period were also thousands, if not millions,
of nonphysical beings. Satan "drew the third part of the stars of
heaven, and did cast them to the earth" (Revelation 12:4). The
Christian tradition equates these forces with the demons and
fallen angels who rebelled with the Adversary. This Adversary to
the God of Light was once known as Lucifer, Bright Star of the
Morning, and eldest son of the Most High God. He was given
dominion over many islands in the universe; chief of which was the
planet earth. When Lucifer rebelled against the government of God,
he drew rebel angels with him. After his defeat in the heavens,
this Adversary retreated to his main stronghold, which is now his
last stronghold, the planet Earth.

The Adversary, was and is the lord of this planet, so these
demonic forces gradually tried to take control of the sixth day
creation and block any opportunity of spiritual advancement by
keeping them Earth-bound. As the sixth day creation had no astral
abilities, the Adversary locked them into a cycle of
reincarnation, so that on death they would take the pitriyana, the
Way of the Ancestors, and return to earth again and again.

Many years after the coming of the Adversary and his fallen angels
to Earth, the great empire of Atlantis fell under the influence of
wicked magicians. All manner of evil began to be practised and the
Most High God of Light withdrew His children, the Elohim, from the
Temples of Atlantis where they had instructed for many years.
Natalie Banks relates the cause of the eventual destruction of
Atlantis:

"However, owing to a temporary seizing of control by those known
as 'the dark brothers', the Great White Lodge [Elohim] withdrew
for a while from their close contact with humanity, with the
result that a large portion of the later Atlantean race became a
prey to the influence and actual use of black magic (the selfish
use of power). This gained entry and operated through the people's
low-grade emotional excesses, which were stimulated by a very
undeveloped mentality. This terrible disaster, the nature of which
we today can hardly imagine, led in time to the downfall of
Atlantis when the whole continent was gradually submerged by a
slow succession of floods." (The Golden Thread)

Before the Sons of the God of Light left Atlantis they advised the
righteous Atlantean priests to lead their people from the sinking
land that was now under Divine judgement. A promise was also made
to these Atlanteans which assured them that, in time, the Sons of
Light would return in bodies of flesh. The reason for their return
was that in the Divine Plan the Elohim, the Family of the God of
Light, in the proper time and under Divine guidance would
overthrow the darkness of the Adversary, set the people free and
cleanse the Earth of evil.

These Sons of God, who were still in the spiritual realm and
conscious of the Light, volunteered to take on the form of Man, to
enter into the Earth to combat the Adversary. It was their great
adventure to incarnate to rescue the sixth day creation.

Remember that in the first chapter of Genesis, the Elohim said,
"Let us make man" - creation by Divine Fiat, or through the Word
of God. In Genesis chapter two, YHVH (Yahweh) "formed" Adam (see
George M. Lamsa's Holy Bible from the Ancient Eastern Text). Both
a literal and symbolic meaning apply. Adam represents the astral
or solar race, but is also an experience of one soul - the first
Adam.

Later in Genesis we read of the "fall" of Adam and the loss of
"Paradise". Robert W. Krajenke, in his commentary on the Readings
from the devout Christian psychic Edgar Cayce, says: "The Fall of
Adam is representational of the fall in flesh of the perfect race.
They also were tempted by the possibilities for experience in a
material world. Eventually they lost the consciousness of their
spiritual ideal and purpose for entering the world." (Edgar
Cayce's Story of the Old Testament)

As a consequence of the fall of Adam, the incarnating astral seed
lost the remembrance of their heavenly origin and the original
mission for which they volunteered. These Sons of God in mortal
bodies of flesh, exiles from the celestial realm, were trapped in
the material world of the Adversary. Further, they forgot what
they really are, and thought of themselves as just physical
bodies!

Unfortunately, the records of the interaction of the Celestial
Beings with Earth were largely destroyed when shattering
cataclysms ended Atlantis.

Also there is a tradition that the famous Alexandrian Library once
housed a magnificent collection of ancient scriptures and records.
Scholars and priests from all over the world were said to have
come there to study the old papyri that survived from lost
Atlantis. The entire Hellenistic world was once familiar with the
Ancient Wisdom teachings concerning mankind's origin and destiny.
When the last documents were destroyed along with the Alexandrian
Library, a great conspiracy brought on a terrible darkness that
enveloped the true history of human kind.

The Great Conspiracy

Now we must pass beyond the literal or historical meaning of the
outline provided above and examine the deeper spiritual meaning.
As we read in  the Gospel of Philip: "Truth did not come into the
world naked, but it came in types and images. One will not receive
truth in any other way."

All this information confirms the ancient belief that Man was
conceived in the Divine Mind and came forth in the upper world of
light. In an apocryphal gospel Jesus says, "Blessed is man since
he existed before he was born. For all things were created, but
man pre-existed."

The survival of this original mystic doctrine can be seen in the
prayer of a Syrian sect that implores, "Deliver us from these
human forms and reclothe us in the light among the stars."

A true human being is a spiritual being, possessing a Divine Spark
which has fallen into the world of birth, generation, fate and
decay. Hence the Gospel of John identifies the Logos or Word with
"The true Light" that "lighteth every man that cometh into the
world." The Gospel of Thomas declares: "There is a light within a
man of Light and he illuminates the whole world."

David Fideler explains: "Putting on the rags of mortality, we have
descended from the 'Fullness' (Pleroma) of Light, the timeless
realm of perfection, and have forgotten our true nature, heritage
and birthright. Our existence on earth is a sleep, until some type
of call, messenger, or revelation awakens us to the re-cognition
of our origin and true nature. This recollection represents the
birth of gnosis within." (Jesus Christ Sun of God)

The apocryphal Gospel of Truth declares:

"if one has knowledge, he is from above. If he is called, he
hears, he answers, and he turns to him who is calling him, and
ascends to him. And he knows in what manner he is called....He who
is to have knowledge in this manner knows where he comes from and
where he is going. He knows as one who having become drunk has
turned away from his drunkeness, (and) having returned to himself,
has set right what are his own." (Nag Hammadi Library)

In order to understand evil and the Adversary (ie Satan, the
Devil, the Serpent etc), the god of this world, we must be
reawakened to our true origin, what happened to us, how we became
trapped on this plane, and how we can achieve liberation.

There are two Principles, one of things spiritual and incorporeal,
the other one of things corruptible, corporeal, and visible. The
first is identified with the Supreme God of Light, the second with
the 'false' god of Darkness.

The Adversary is the steward of the material world but principle
of nothing. Only the body is of this world, the spirit is not. Man
lies in the deep sleep of ignorance, his powers of spiritual
self-awareness stupefied by materiality.

The great teacher Valentinus (circa 150 A.D.) wrote:

"From the beginning you are immortal and children of eternal life.
You wished to take death to yourself as your portion in order that
you might destroy it and annihilate it utterly and that death
might die in you and through you. For when you destroy the world,
you yourselves are not destroyed, but you are lords over the whole
creation and over all decay."

Adam volunteered to come to earth and accordingly the 'fall' was
in keeping with the Divine Plan. In a commentary of Zosimos we
read: "Experience is the great mistress, because on the basis of
proven results she teaches to he who understands what can best
lead to the goal." (Collection des Alchimistes Grecques)

In The Combat of Adam and Eve, an apocryphal work translated from
the Ethiopian, the writer says that the descendants of Adam were
divided into two branches: the Cainites and the Sethites. The
former, descendants of Cain, were devoted to Satan, the pleasure
of the flesh, and immortality. The Sethites, descendants of Seth,
had remained faithful to the God of Light, but they soon began
mingling with the children of Cain, "sullied themselves with their
impurities and engendered with them children."

It is obvious from The Combat of Adam and Eve, that the story of
Adam being driven out of paradise is the story of someone who came
to Earth from elsewhere. Was this in keeping with a special
mission?

Transformation

"He that findeth his life shall lose it," said Jesus (Matthew
10:39). The me you call yourself is totally conditioned by habit,
by the world. The part of you that you call I and Me is programmed
by society and its institutions. The real you, however, the inner
true being, is hidden behind your conditioning. "And be not
conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of
your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable,
and perfect will of God" (Romans 12:2). Transformation is then the
real purpose of life. "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a
new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things
become new" (Corinthians 5:17).

On the other hand the purpose of the Great Conspiracy, that
manifests in the modern world, is to cut humanity off from
Transformation by convincing us we are just highly evolved
animals. The minor conspiracies keep us occupied, sometimes for
centuries, and are designed to prevent us from detecting and
recognizing the nature of the Ultimate Conspiracy: the Conspiracy
to Keep us Human.

The very idea of Transformation into a new creature is usually
portrayed as bad or evil in movies, television and literature. Men
become werewolves, vampires and monsters but never angels or the
children of the gods. Popular culture has programmed us to reject
Christ. "Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in
Heaven is perfect," said Jesus.

The goal is Divine Perfection and the path is Transformation.
Perfection is therefore latent potential, because it relates to
the inner being of every human. "Jesus answered them, Is it not
written in your law, 'I said, Ye are Elohim [gods]'..." (John
8:35). "I have said, Ye are Elohim; for all of you are children of
the Most High. But ye shall die like men, and fall like one of the
princes. Arise, O Elohim, judge the earth..."

We find in the Corpus Hermeticum that: "Man is not made lower by
having a mortal part, but on the contrary, this mortality enlarges
his possibilities and his power. His double role is only possible
for him because of his double nature: he is made in such a way
that he embraces at the same time the earthly and the divine."
"Wherefore", we read in another chapter of the Corpus Hermeticum,
"we dare to say that man is a mortal God, and that a celestial God
is an immortal man."

The North American researcher William Grimstad identified the
diabolical dangers inherent in the supremely anti-spiritual ethos
dominating our age. "The materialistic mode has opened the world
to subhuman forces that can only be described as supremely
dangerous to mankind," Grimstad observes. These 'subhuman forces'
are "moving to complete their conquest by enacting an inverted
form of the original creative process that gave rise to the
natural world...The modern era did not 'just happen' - there's a
guiding force behind it which operates on the human level as well
as on some trans-human plane."

The elites of the modern world are the unconscious tools of
malevolent powers. The international Establishment, the 'movers
and shakers' of our time, control the behaviour of the masses
through media manipulation, politics, economics, and even
pornography, drugs and rock music. All areas of 'popular' culture
are under their influence. Programmes of education as well as the
sciences are completely controlled by these forces. Rene Guenon
explained that behind such movements is "something far more
dangerous which their leaders perhaps know nothing about, being in
themselves in turn the unconscious tools of a higher demonic
power." The metaphysical 'powerhouse' of this Great Conspiracy
draws together and directs seemingly divergent human agents.

Numerous sources, of greatly varying reliability, generally term
the collective human agents of the Great Conspiracy, the
"Illuminati". For the purpose of literary identification this name
will certainly suffice. The best servant being one who is totally
unconscious of the fact that he is controlled and directed by an
unknown force. Having nothing to hide and consequently nothing to
"confess".

The Dark Forces and their Earthling 'Illuminati' servants keep
passing themselves off as the 'good guys'. They do this to confuse
and exploit, planting their supremely evil teachings in order to
subvert humanity. In the name of putting an end to conflict and
humanising the planet they are actually debasing human kind to
ever lower levels. Consequently these Dark Forces are blocking any
possibility of Transformation and genuine Transcendence beyond the
world.

The 'Illuminati' Establishment creates continuous, low-grade
social conflict that can be managed to divert attention from its
own depredations and justify more government control and
conditioning of the population. Remember, Hoffman Nickerson, a
personal associate of John D. Rockefeller, argued in his book The
American Rich that bureaucratic dictatorship in America is
inevitable because of racial, religious and ethnic conflict.
Diabolical influences are actually working to promote and then
'use' such conflict to 'prove' that a 'Big Brother' society is a
necessity. This is the esoteric goal of 'conflict management'.

The intellectuals and bureaucrats who implement the conflict
strategy in government and think tanks believe the 'cover' story.
They believe that they are working to 'perfect' human beings, that
is to eliminate man's inhumanity to man. They see themselves
fighting prejudice, racism, sexism, male chauvinism, etc. It is
grim testimony to the power of the 'Illuminati' propaganda that
the energies of idealistic people are focused on the faddish
supremely synthetic issues created by the elite. Such 'pawns in
the game' are totally oblivious to their rapid march to a global
tyranny.

American researcher Robert G. Girard coined the phrase the
"conspiracy to keep us human". Girard, in a widely-published
article, presented a thought-provoking expose of a supernatural
"force" that is determined to keep us "human" through the control
and manipulation of the affairs of men.

Incidentally, the so-called "New Age" movement - quite obviously -
refuses to face the reality that powerful, maligned forces control
the world, and are holding the earth and its inhabitants back from
the goal of Transformation. The popular "New Age" movement is
totally compromised and can only lead people into further illusion
because it fails to recognise that current humanity, as a whole,
is not progressing to a higher state, but is being increasingly
degraded in the Dark Age of ignorance. The "New Age" movement
ignores, to its own peril, the traditional doctrine that the Earth
must be cleansed in the "fire" of the End Time cataclysm, before
the dawning of the Golden Age.

The End is Now!

The age in which we live is one of divinely ordained separation.
The children of the Spirit are the Sons of the God of Light and
Wisdom. They are called to separate themselves from the world and
prepare for the soon coming period of Great Tribulation that marks
the end of the long Dark Age.

The battle lines between the End Time Sons of Light and the Sons
of Darkness are drawn. The 'middle ground' is shrinking, the day
of Awakening is now. John records the admonition of Christ
"because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spew
thee out of My mouth" (Revelation 3:16). Each of us must choose
our eternal destiny and act in accord with either the influences
of light and life, or materialist darkness and death!

Many people are concerned about the changes taking place in the
world around them. People are worried about 'Big Brother' or the
emerging global empire, euphemistically termed the 'New World
Order'. But frankly, what is the value of this 'concern' if you
are unaware of the source of this ultimate conspiracy? All
corrective actions will be illusory and futile. And we may add,
what is the point of being aware of all that is really taking
place in the world, if you are not prepared to act in accord with
truth? We cannot hold back the flood of evil and degeneracy that
is enveloping the planet, but we can escape the cataclysm. We can
transcend the bondage of the world order!

The Gospel of Truth observes, "Christ was spoken of in their midst
so that those who were disturbed might receive a bringing back,
and he might anoint them with ointment. The ointment is the mercy
of the Father who will have mercy on them."

Given the current chaotic state, we must never forget that the
struggle which we fight here on Earth is also being fought on
higher levels. We must never forget that we are a race come from
the heavens and we have now reached the point at which a final
conflict will soon take place. We must Awaken to our origin and
prepare for the ultimate battle by seceding from the world. We
must become a New People, a New Community, with our roots in a
superior conception of existence. This is the real challenge! To
become co-fighters of the King of Light against the Regent of
Darkness!

All this should help us to know the underlying cause of the
chaotic conditions and turmoil on earth. This planet is in the
middle of a cosmic battle between Good and Evil, and most of us
don't even know it! Even worse, some of us have even 'forgotten'
about it!

"He who is unjust will continue to be unjust, and he who is filthy
will continue to be filthy, and he who is righteous will continue
to do righteousness, and he who is holy will continue to be holy.

"Behold, I am coming soon and my reward is with me, to give every
man according as his work shall be.

"I am Aleph and Tau, the beginning and the end, the first and the
last."
