  0. Now Bhakti is the Sole Operation of Truth in the Universe: Bhakti is the One Method of all the works of creation, preservation and destruction. Therefore let us contemplate these Aphorisms on Bhakti to enhance our Knowledge of the One Royal Way of Attainment, to enlighten our understanding and inspire our souls with Sacred Prajna, that is, Holy Wisdom.

  1. Bhakti is the highest mode of inner initiation: it shall purify and consecrate all that thou art unto the Great Work of the Whole Universe: it shall be as a Mighty Flame of Light which shall illumine thy path unto the Ultimate End of all things.

  2. Bhakti is the Way, the Truth, and the Life: it shall raise thee high into the Celestial Regions of Ineffable Light, wherein thou shalt partake of the Sacred Soma, that is, the Blessed Nectar, from the Majestic River of Eternal Fire.

  3. Aparabhakti, that is, Preparatory Devotion, is the art of working without lust of result by practicing Sannyasa, that is, Renunciation, with the results of all thy works upon the earth. It is Karma Yoga, that is, Union through Works, or Worship through service to others. But such Works of Bhakti are done for all without any taint of personal service. Such is the nature of True Sadhana, that is, True Mystical Practice.

  4. Parabhakti, that is, Supreme Devotion, is Eternal Worship of the Highest through the complete realization of thy Union with the Eternal by constant awareness of thy Union with All. It is the most arduous practice of them all, since to obtain the Vision of Advaita, that is, the Consciousness of Non-Duality, entails absolute Yajna, that is, Sacrifice, of thy lower mind which sees the terrible illusion of diversity in things.

  5. Mukti, that is, Liberation, from the seductive snares of the illusion of Samsara, that is, the Wheel of Becoming, is obtained only by the royal practice of Bhakti.

  6. Bhakti, that is, Sacred Devotion, is an Eternal Quest for Illimitable Truth! It is an Eternal Road to the Vast Heavens of Eternal Knowledge and Royalty!

  7. By devotion alone does a man practice Gnana Yoga, that is, Knowledge of Union, so as to cross this Vast Ocean of Maya, that is, this World of Illusion, to obtain the Mystical Jewel of the Ages in the Lotus of the Eternal.

  8. By devotion alone does a man practice Raja Yoga, that is, Royal Union, so as to attend the High Wedding Feast of the Gods in the Supernal Ashram, that is, the Blessed Abode of Divinity.

  9. Therefore dedicate thine all unto the Eternal Truth, O ye who seek Union! And fortify thy soul with the celestial nourishment of the stars by serving the One Truth of Illimitable Ananda, that is, Eternal Bliss.

  10. Therefore endeavor to understand the formula of thine own True Way; and seek to realize that Way in every mode of thy life. Thy modus operandi shall be none other than Bhakti, that is, Perpetual Devotion.

  11. All the stars of the Universe, and all the planets and moons of every galaxy, are alive and in motion due to the One Power of Bhakti. Bhakti is alive and omnipresent; it is in action everywhere, motivating every thing in the Whole Universe.

  12. All things are in truth a manifestation of Bhakti: all things are devoted to the One End of the Great Work of the Whole Universe, that is, the Final Consummation in the Blessed Light of the Eternal.

  13. To obtain the Holy Siddhis, that is, the Magical Powers of Nature, seek to fix thy Manas, that is, thy Mind, to acquire the Power of Dharana, that is, Omnipotent Concentration. Thus shalt thou be able to use the Power of Maya, that is, the Ways of Illusion, to acquire for thyself all useful objects in thy Great Lila of Bhakti, that is, thy Perpetual Play of Devotion.

  14. To obtain True Union with thy Holy Atman, that is, thy True Self, seek to perform in thine heart the One Royal Operation of the Sun, that is, the obtaining of the Knowledge and Conversation with thy Celestial Deva, who is thy Holy Guardian Angel, and who shall be as a guide unto thee in all thy ways. This is the highest type of Moksha, that is, Freedom from Illusion; and thy modus operandi shall be none other than Bhakti, that is, Holy Devotion. Here endeth our Holy Book on the Aphorisms of Bhakti.
