I ran across this message on the Masonic Internet on the placement of
lights in the Lodge in different states, and found it interesting, so
thought that I would pass it along. Hope others may find it
interesting.

The doc I'm copying says for OR 'except 2 at left at corner' and I
dont know what that means.

I presume the thing in the centre of the Lodge is either the altar or
the TB. In the English lodges I have seen, the TBs are propped against
the JW pedestal, though I'm told other arrangements are sometimes
used. The altar is now actually the WM pedestal, supporting the 3
Great Lights.

The 3 Lesser Lights are placed one at the far right corner of each
pedestal, from the point of view of the officer concerned.

I think that is the altar in the center. I guess I was surprised that
there was that much difference between the different states. I have
not been in Lodge in that many different states and perhaps had not
paid that close attention to the arrangements, but I had thought that
it was done the same in all Lodges.
