Hi Fred,

I don't know about Walter, but quite frankley, I don't want to and, yes, I can
create my own reality.  I will continue to post things as I see it and I see it
 very similar to Walter.  As a citizen of the US and a veteran, I swore to
uphold the constitution, which I do believe is the right thing to do, and part
of that is exercising my right to free speech and I will continue to do that.
This country was founded by dreamers and idealists, but they created a reality
that was totally unlike any reality at the time.  They created a constitution
that put freedom of information, the 1st protecting speech, at the forefront.
I'm sure that complaints of unfair taxation and no representation were just
as outragous at the time as things we are saying now.  Times may have changed
but the human condition has not.  The arguements that that was then and this
is now are totally invalid, the constitution is a living and working document
for all times.  It allows for constant change, but protects the basic rights
of life no matter what the situation.  The conspiracy laws are nothing but
a violation of our rights.  Restricting information to "protect society" is as
crazy as handgun laws to protect the people.  People doing the right thing
is much more effective than laws to create an enlightened society.  How soon
will "brain scans" come to make sure we don't have a bad or destructive or
anti government thought?  Because of the way I was raised in Pennsylvania,
because of the education I have received, and because of my oath to the
constitution I took when I was inducted into the military (against my will BTW)
, I would consider my self derelict to not speak up in protest, to not post my
thoughts here, and not do the right thing as I see it when I see the US
and its constitution being subverted for whatever reason.  And, I consider the
worst reason to be efficiency.  De Toqueville (sp) said that democracy was the
worst form of govenment because it was terribly inefficient, but, yet, he
supported it as the only way to go.  How about we put the quality of life of
the individual as the highest priority rather than a pipeline or hiway or
whatever.  How about we save a fish, bird, or flower because we can and it is
the right thing to do.  It has been said that a culture is measured by its
arts and its support of the arts, well, I would add that a culture is also
measured by the things it does because it is the right thing to do and it can
be done, not whether it is efficient or will allow people to make money.  I
and my wife spend more time making less money than my father did as an
individual and our quality of life is lower.  Is this advancement?

One last question, I agree that some of what Walter is pretty fantastic, but
why do you spend so much time trying to attack him and what he says?  So what,
most of us here are fairly big kids and are almost grown-up, we can think for
ourselves.  Show me some information that supports you position, show me your
thoughts on things, and I will be much more receptive to what you have to say.

I guess the solstice has me going, I have more hours of daylight to swelter
here in the deep south so I guess I'll spend more time at the key board in
the good old AC.  Watch out folks, I might be on a tare today.
