I.D. Systems Awarded Contracts by U.S. Navy and U.S. Postal Service
Fleet Management System Continues to Penetrate Government Market

HACKENSACK, N.J., July 11 /PRNewswire/ -- I.D. Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: IDSY),
a leading provider of end-to-end wireless asset management solutions, today
announced that it has received contracts from the United States Navy and the
United States Postal Service for its Wireless Asset Net(TM) (WAN(TM)) fleet
management system for industrial equipment.

The three-phase U.S. Navy contract may lead to implementation of the
company's system on industrial equipment assets at U.S. naval bases around
the world. In the first phase, to commence immediately, I.D. Systems will
perform a site survey and conduct a business analysis of the impact its
system is likely to have on operations at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard
(PNSY) in Kittery, Maine. In the second phase, subject to acceptance of the
first phase and agreement on certain terms, I.D. Systems would implement its
system at PNSY for approximately 350 industrial vehicles. In the third phase,
subject to acceptance of the second phase and agreement on certain terms, the
company's WAN(TM) fleet management system would be considered for roll-out to
all U.S. naval bases without additional competitive bidding.

This contract resulted from the efforts of the Navy's Smart Base Project
Office, which was formed with the mission of improving naval base efficiency,
productivity, and safety through the use of innovative commercial
technologies. I.D. Systems' General Services Administration (GSA) contract
facilitated the award.

The order from the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) was also generated through the
company's GSA contract. Under the USPS contract, I.D. Systems will provide
its WAN(TM) fleet management system for approximately 35 industrial vehicles
at the USPS Processing and Distribution Center in Charlotte, NC. This is the
fourth USPS facility -- with a cumulative total of approximately 400 vehicles
-- to order the company's fleet management system. The USPS maintains
approximately 500 major mail processing centers and approximately 40,000
facilities overall in the United States.

The USPS also utilizes the company's mail tracking system to monitor and
analyze the flow of mail.

Under the Company's General Services Administration contract, which runs
through April 15, 2004, any U.S. government ordering office can place certain
types of orders without seeking further competitive bids. Detailed product
and ordering information on the company's fleet management system is
available at the GSA's FSS Advantage! on-line shopping service at
http://www.fss.gsa.gov. Greg Smith, I.D. Systems director of marketing, said,
"We are very excited that our fleet management system has been chosen for
evaluation by the Navy, with the potential for major implementations in the
future. We look forward to demonstrating the significant benefits that our
system will provide in the naval base environment. We are also very pleased
that our GSA FSS contract is continuing to facilitate new orders from the
U.S. Postal Service, and we look forward to making significantly deeper
penetration into this market."
