  The Bible speaks of the Ark blazing with fire and light
  leveling mountains, stopping rivers, destroying armies and
  laying waste to entire regions.

  After the reign of King Solomon, however, the Ark seems to have
  vanished. According to the extremely successful movie "Raiders
  of the Lost Ark" the Ark was captured by the invading armies of
  the Egyptian Pharaoh Shishak in 980 B.C.

  Shishak placed the Ark in a secret chamber called The Well of
  the Souls in the Egyptian city of Tanus. This so displeased God
  that he caused the city to be consumed by a sand storm that
  lasted an entire year. The city of Tanus was wiped away.

  Does the Ark really lie in an ancient Egyptian city waiting to
  be discovered by an intrepid archaeologist? Many believe that
  the Ark is indeed in Egypt others say Israel, Ethiopia or even
  Iraq.

  Just where is the true resting place of the Ark?

  answer.
