A lot of kneeding and prodding will do me just fine. Spanking doesn't do
anything, you have to work the muscles good and get the blood flowing.

I think you need someone to roll up their fists and go into a twisting
and turning motion. Sorta like kneading dough!

Maybe you should have him read the book, "The NEW Art of Sensual Massage", it
is available at most book stores and describes the benefits related to massaging
the entire body, including the butt.

It depends on what the massage was. When performing massage, there
is one part of the buttocks that it is very useful to massage.
The main muscles either side of the spine run under the back of the
pelvis and attach to the buttocks. If you're trying to ease tight
muscle in the lower back, this is almost impossible without massaging
this part of the buttocks. Massage of the rest of the buttocks is
unusual, since (like the heel and parts of the neck) this muscle is
meant to be always under tension. Over-massage of the buttocks will
cause bruising when the patient next sits down for any length of time.
So, it IS a usual part of a back massage. As for your boyfriend
going through the roof over this, that's a difficult one. Getting
a massage textbook that describes this technique and showing him that
it is THERAPEUTIC not sexual may help. Getting him to get a massage
from the same masseur (who will almost certainly use the technique
on him) would be even better. When I do massage at SF cons I have
to be careful with this technique, not because of the patient,
who can feel what it's doing to their back muscles and will therefore
accept it as massage not a pass, but because of any people watching,
particularly SO's etc. I'll often tell the patient what I'm going to
do, and why. This lets them, and anyone watching, know what I'm doing.

A Adams writes that it is unusual to include buttocks in a back massage
(except for one area). Granted, massaging the buttocks probably won't
help your back very much, but it is *quite* common to include *all* of the
buttocks in a full-body massage. These are large muscles, used extensively
for walking, running, hiking, jumping, etc. On some people they can hold
a surprising amount of tension. If my subject is shy I will sometimes
work on the butt through clothing for a while to work on the major pressure
points there.

btw, *every* full-body massage I've ever received included the buttocks.
(and it *always* feels good....but definitely *not* sexual)

Cheers. Bill.
