reliable sources of information?

CIA has gotten involved with drug activities since it's very
beginning. In the early Col War they operated with the
Corsican Brotherhood which was importing drugs from the
Golden Crescent in the Mid East. (MORE)
Later the CIA was involved in the drug trade in SEA in the
Golden Triangle. And, the Agency also was involved in the
coccaine traffic because of it's clandestine contacts with
Bolivian and Peruvian officials (MORE)
The nature of the business of fighting Communism caused the
CIA to deal with drug trafficers in many places for many

and the White House that the NOC program should be increased.
The Agency's new mission of anti-terrorism and the like is
not conducive to officers operating on the diplomatic
circuit. The CIA will need "deep cover" officers who can
travel in the right circles to counter things like
