Subject: DC Dave Infiltrates B'nai B'rith OK Bombing Event

October  19, 1995--DC Dave,  under assignment as an undercover AEN
reporter, infiltrated a B'nai B'rith event held at lunchtime in the
Senate,Washington, D.C.  The event was held to commerorate the 6th
month anniversary of the bombing of the Murrah Building in Oklahoma
City.

Tommy P. Baer, International President, B'nai B'rith, presented a
$515,000 to Sen. James Inhofe for the people of Oklahoma at the
function.  Rabbi Fred Reiner, Temple Sinai, Washington, DC, gave the
invocation.  Attorney General Janet Reno and Sens. Orrin Hatch, Don
Nickles, and James Inhofe also spoke.

Mr. Baer told a packed room:  "We gather here today on a day that
marks one of the darkest moments in this history of this nation.  Six
months ago a terrorist bomb ripped through the Alfred P. Murrah
Building in Oklahoma City, killing over 100 men, women and children.
Although the site is now quiet, echoes of that terrible, terrible
moment still reverberate."  He said that the tragedy was a milestone
for this country.

"Before this event, we had the luxury of believing that no matter how
radical our enemies, we could look into the eyes of our fellow
Americans and see a friend, an ally.  Especially a veteran of our
armed services. Especially someone who called himself a patriot.  No
longer.

"The bmbing of the Murrah Building taught us--and the sabotage of the
Amtrak train in Arizona confirmed--that the cancer of violence has
taken root here in the United States.  We have learned that the tools
of yesterday do not suit the radicalism of today.

"It is for this reason that B'nai B'rith urges the House of
Representatives to approve the Omnibus Anti-Terrorism Bill of 1995
which has already been passed by the Senate . . ."

It was at this point that DC Dave had to leave . . . but on the way
out, he was kind enough to leave  copies of  his poem "Missing In
Action," on the B'nai B'rith literature table.  Here it is:

Where's the press on Oklahoma
And Timothy McVeigh?
Are they waiting for the government
To tell them what to say?

Since their attempt to pin it on
Our patriots fell through,
I get the strong impression that
They don't know what to do.

I know the case is hard to crack,
But still we ought to try,
It surely beats complete dependence
On the FBI.

What about the seismograph
And people who were there?
How can we leave unanswered questions
Hanging in the air?

And then there were those other bombs
Discovered at the site,
Can't we put that evidence
Beneath a searching light?

Why don't we hear from those who know,
Having their full say,
Like we've seen on CNN
Discussing DNA.

Instead we get official leaks,
And most are pretty lame,
Crafted to incriminate
The ones they want to blame.

But on the whole the bombing is
A subject to avoid,
You'd think we had a managed press,
Or am I paranoid?
