Yeah, it was rather puzzling to me why Clinton was carrying on so much about 
gun shows in his presentation on more gun control laws the past weekend. 
Well, it just seemed that all of his proposals, which were being presented 
as a response to the Littleton massacre, just didn't have much specific 
tie-in to that particular situation. So I was really at a loss to figure out 
how his proposals were going to be able to prevent such future episodes.

Ah, but now that this information has come to light, it is now obvious that 
Clinton was merely anticipating the eventual findings of the Littleton 
massacre police investigation. Now I understand why he was harping so much 
on gun shows.

I suppose his advisors might have suggested that he give it one more week 
before presenting his package, and then his proposals with regard to the 
Littleton event would make some sort of casualty sense. But Clinton's most 
favorite political topic of all to talk about is gun control and an 
opportunity to blast the NRA, and probably he just couldn't contain himself 
for another week.

So there you have it: Clinton's proposals anticipating the causality factor 
of the Littleton massacre as yet one more coincidence to add on to those I 
previously cited:

Temporally interesting coincidental developments

1) The first coincidental situation that was going on is that the  Colorado 
legislature had concealed carry legislation in progress of  consideration 
for passage. The legislature, in the aftermath of the  school massacre, has 
tabled that legislation.

2) Second coincidental situation is that the NRA was scheduled to  come to 
the state. (It has been pressured into curtailing the length  of that 
meeting from 3 days to 1 day -- more comments below.)

3) A third coincidental situation is that the Clinton administration  in the 
previous month and a half prior to the school massacre has  undertaken legal 
actions to block foreign made ammunition for resale  in this country (using 
an obscure legal angle). I verfied the reality  of this by calling prominent 
mail order firms that sell such imported  ammunition. Sure enough, their 
existing supplies of such are being  depleted or else have already run dry 
-- and they can't get any  replacement on account of the stuff sitting in 
legal limbo on the  shipping docks.

4) Okay, a fourth coincidental situation is this:

5) A fifth coincidental activity being reported on shortly before the  
school massacre but in conjunction to the ammunition blockage and  increased 
sales of fully-auto small arms to urban-warfare/assault- police groups:

NRA shamed by anti-gun crowd

One of the very most effective anti-gun propaganda coups pulled off  via 
this school shooting massacre has been the shaming of the NRA  into 
curtailing its scheduled three day meeting to be held in Denver.  This is 
the single biggest PR strike against the NRA that has ever  been mounted in 
the history of this on-going struggle of pro-Second  Amendment versus 
anti-Second Amendment factions. The timing of this  massacre and its 
geographical location could not have been any more  fortuitous to the 
anti-gun crowd's agenda of striking a severe PR  blow against the NRA 
organization.

Other coincidental developments taking place:

1) Pending deployment of 30,000 called up reservist to the war  against the 
Serbs in Yougoslavia.

2) Clinton issuing an executive order prohibiting currently serving  
military personnel from leaving military service at this time. (The  only 
possible follow-ups to this measure to insure adequate manpower  for the 
current war would be to call up more reservist and National  Guardsmen, and 
then after that, reactivate a draft.)

3) Clinton giving his approval of NATO proceeding to conduct fresh  
calculations as to what troop strength would be required to wage the  ground 
war phase against the Serbs. (An analysis in 1998 calculated a  force of 
200,000 ground troops.)
