Subliminal Messages on Beer Cans?
---------------------------------

"According to the surgeon general, women should not drink
alcoholic beverages during pregnancy because of the risk of birth
defects."

You've probably seen that warning before. It's written on
the side of every beer can. But did you know it contains a
subliminal message?

Subliminal persuasion through backward masking is a a process
where subliminal messages (messages that implant themselves
directly in the subconcious mind) are placed, usually in music,
which become obvious only when played backwards.

When the beer can warning is played backwards, the message
"Michigan" can be clearly heard!

Why?
----

What is the signifigance of the message? There are many
possibilities. Unfortunately, the surgeon general's office has
refused to comment, except to state: "The surgeon general's
warning does not, either intentionally or unintentionally,
contain any subliminal messages."

Clearly something is being covered up here.

What Can You Do?
----------------

Write to the office of the surgeon general and demand to know
the truth! The address is:

    Public Health Service
    Office of the Surgeon General
    Rockville, MD 20857

Remember, if the office of the surgeon general recieves enough
mail, it will have to come up with an answer!
