VOTESCAM: The Stealing of America
By James M. and Kenneth F. Collier, Publ. Victoria House Press, 67 Wall
Street, New York, NY 10005, Copyright 1992, 4x7soft, 416pp. Ordering:
$6.99 + $4 s/h to Loompanics Unlimited, PO Box 1197, Port Townsend, WA
98368 (specify order #94243, you will also receive Loompanic's latest
290 page catalog, normally $5 alone).

When I first saw this glossy paperback with a menacing eagle on the
cover tearing apart the American flag, I was nearly compelled to dismiss
it as yet another tendentious conspiracy tract full of "dire warnings"
and "alarming news" written by someone of marginal intelligence shocked
(shocked!) to have just learned that his government is corrupt ("The
book that indicts Attorney General Janet Reno"!). Little did I know that
I'd be spending the next ten hours straight reading it from cover to
cover (something I haven't done since Heinlein's "The Moon is a Harsh
Mistress"). I recommend starting with the 2nd chapter, "Ballots, not
Bullets", and then backing up to the first, "Electronic Hoodwink", if
you feel you are the sort of skeptic who might easily be put off by a
little introductory hyperventilating.
Essentially, VOTESCAM is the twenty-year first-person account of the
Collier brothers' voyage up from innocence at the close of the '60s,
when Ken challenged veteran Democratic Congressman Claude Pepper for his
House seat and both witnessed election tally irregularities, which
started them on the hunt which has lasted right up until the present.
From videotaping a roomful of League of Women Voters personnel busily
altering ballot punchcards, and spiriting off copies of election
"results" distributed to in-on-it media organizations before the polls
opened, the Colliers embark upon a crusade to reveal the truth -- first,
naively, to the media (where they are dismissed contemptuously) then to
government investigating agencies (where they are ignored and fobbed
off), then to the courts (where they are star-chambered in a
most-illuminating chapter). Along the way, the reader is treated to a
rogue's gallery Who's Who of the contemporary American scumbags, er,
government and media elites who really runs things in Dodge.
Recently, the Colliers have traveled around the country at the
invitation and behest of various libertarian and freedom-oriented groups
to investigate the election processes in their regions, and have
documented election fraud on a mass and endemic scale.
It is my strong recommendation that EVERYONE read this book. The
procedures the Colliers use to ferret out election fraud can and should
be learned and put to use by concerned citizens if they are to have any
hope of regaining a smidgen of their lost freedoms.

>From the foreword:

   Votescam asserts the unthinkable.
It is a strange and frighteningly true detective story. It contains
fact, film, documents and visions seldom seen by the public. It is a
troubling look at the corruption of the American vote that most
Americans cannot bear to believe is even partly true.
The authors assert, and back it up with daring reporting, that your
vote and mine may now be meaningless bits of energy directed by
pre-programmed computers -- which can be fixed to select certain
pre-ordained candidates and leave no footprints or paper trail. In
short, computers are covertly stealing your vote.
* For almost three decades the American vote has been subject to
government-sponsored electronic theft.
* The vote has been stolen from you by a cartel of federal 'national
security' bureaucrats, who include higher-ups at the CIA, political
party leaders, Congressmen, co-opted journalists -- and the owners and
managers of the major Establishment news media, who have decided in
concert that how America's votes are counted, by whom they are counted,
and how the results are verified and delivered to the public is, as one
of them put it, "not a proper area of inquiry."
* By means of an unofficial private corporation named News Election
Service (NES), the Establishment press has actual physical control of
the counting and dissemination of the vote, and it refuses to let the
public know how it is done.

This books also contends that the theft of your vote or Votescam is
part of the supposedly patriotic "collaboration" between federal
officials and the news media that began shortly after the assassination
of John F. Kennedy in 1963, when the "responsible" American press was
persuaded by American intelligence services to hide from the American
people the actual implications of the Kennedy murder.

   Loompanic's review:

Votescam: The Stealing of America is the culmination of a twenty year
investigation into computer fraud ... it is the most astonishing
non-fiction detective story you will read in the 1990s. It tracks downs,
confronts and names the names of Establishment thieves who elegantly
steal the American vote for their own profit. It comes face to face with
a Supreme Court Justice who rigged a vote fraud case; the most powerful
publisher in America, who won't let her newspapers and television
stations deal with vote rigging; and a cast of politicians, lawyers,
newspeople and CIA operatives who are involved in a scandal of
unthinkable dimensions.
