I just wanna ask a question, what is the level of paranoia on this
list? I mean, it seems that everyone thinks that the government is
the BIG BROTHER type organization watching our every move, and that
they are conspiring with anyone and everyone against the people.
I find these conspiracy theories the most interesting of all. I mean,
there are so many of them roaming out there. there's roswell, there
is JFK, there is the supposed landing at that base in the mid
seventies, the reports of seeing humans during abductions, and not
other abductees (or was that the X-files?) This, the conspiracy
theory, is the greatest fairy tale ever told, a new chapter of
mythology. (this is all just personal speculation) I was in an
english class that was an essay class, and I did a series of essays
concerning my fears, and I only have two of them...my fear of the
dark, and my fear of aliens. I have been petrified of the dark ever
since I was a child, and I wanted to know why. I read the books about
UFO's, and I guess I have been for the last seven years or so, and it
takes me so long to get through a book, because it scares me so much.
I've had the weird dreams about flying in the sky, about sitting
around, completly helpless and terrified (as scarry as that feeling
is, I love it, kind of s&mish, eh?), I've had a recurring dream for as
long as i could remember, from way back, first when i was about five
or so, about me going to a field to see a UFO land, and there is
large group of people standing and waiting, a la close encounters,
hell, I couldn't even watch te end of CEOT3K because, well, I don't
know, but I still get a weird feeling when I see it. I used to run
around my backyard in the fresh snow, and then i would see someone
wating for me around the corner. I mean, I thought I could examine my
past and maybe find something. I included these things in my essays,
and I don't know what I found out. This sparked a debate, that every
generations have their own little fable, their own little story to be
told. We have UFO's and Government conspiracies.
Are they real, I cannot say, and I don't want to speculate. I guess I
did above there, but this is what i actually mean. The evidence is
suspect, circumstantial at best, and is unable to be traced to
anything. If the government can keep something as big as alien
contact a secret for so long, whats to say that they aren't just
feeding some people what they want to hear. If I was in a
governement, I would do something like that.
Is teh FBI tapping phones, spying on us? Maybe, but believe it or
not, it really doesn't make that big of a difference, anyways. Is the
CIA hiding things from the american public about everything from
arming rebellions to collaborating with the aliens to make a hybrid,
perhaps, but do we really have to knwo everything that is going on?
No, we don't. All the things that are going on are always going to
occur, because of our nature. There is always conspiracies, there are
always shadey deals, there is always opression, and there is always
the winner and the loser. the government's job is to make sure we
survive as a ountry, as well as making sure that we, the people, have
the basic freedoms and chances outlined in the constitution.
People hate the military, but if there is a war, and we are
threatened(the us, sorry to all of you non US people on the list,
because this is basically geared towards the US people, but hey, we
are all citizens of planet earth, or however that pc shit thing goes)
everyone will be calling on the military to protect us.
people ate the cia, but as a global player, we need them to survive,
as do we need the fbi. with all the changes coming up in the future,
there will alwas be stories about the powers that be looking in at
everyone.
Until a UFO lands during a Michigan Ohio State football game at the
Big House in front of 106000 screaming idiots painted up in maize and
blue and asks for a hot dog, there will always be doubt to their
existance. I know the feeling that some of the abductees have felt,
teh paralyzing fear, the lonliness, the helplessness, and the relief,
and I have the upmost respect for anyone who has been through
that, because I do believe that somehting is going on, that these
people have had something done to them to make them feel that way, and
have those memories.
To sum it up, I don't buy into conspiracy theories, I don't buy into
the FBI tracking people just to track them, and I don't buy into the
paranoia that I have seen towards the military and the government. I
think alot of it has to do with the fact that many people want to
believe so hard, that any little pice of evidence, real or not,
clinches it in thier mind. things can be interpreted many different
ways, and if there is some giant conspiracy led by the government, I
wonder if those people should work on the budget,so we can get it up
and running again.
I do have a story to tell, one that I have heard, that is very very
very strange, and very scarry. I will save that for another time,
probably next year, when my workload drops a bit. I want to know what
people think about it, because I want to see if anyone can back it up.
I am attracted to this list, because of the romantic aspect of the
unknown as an artform all in itself. The unknown is alive, its heart
beats with the stories of millions, of the speculation of millions.
I am attracted to UFO's not just for any personal reasons, contrary to
what I have stated above. MY main interest is in the life of it, the
inner workings of the stories of millions of people that hvae een
affected by this phenomenon. whethere it is real or not is irrelevant
in my eyes, the magnitude of this phenomenon is so large and
overpowering that once exposed to it, it can consume you. I have been
consumed by it, the stories, the tales of the people. It is as
remarkable as teh mythology of the ancient greeks and romans, the
egyptians, and all the rest.
If it is real, it is the most important thing ever in the history of
man, yes, even more important than the move of teh Cleveland Browns to
baltimore!! (anyone out there got a sense of humor)
I challenge this list. take a step back from your beliefs, and look
at why you believe what you do. If you made it this far in my post,
the next logical question is, has this taken you for the ride? Have
you been consumed? Do you want to believe so much that you you cloud
your own good judgement?
basically what I am asking is......can a person's mind be so open,
that they are closed again.
Thanks for reading, and lets get a good discussion going on this.
this is the type of discussion I long for, because there is no one I
know as interested in this topic as I am that I know.
I remain open to possibilities, and I have seen so much already to
make me question things, and wonder aloud......yet I don't believe.
at least not yet
