A few of us from DFW UFO attended the Eclectic Viewpoint meeting
yesterday evening, as you're aware.

Well, it was a good one, folks. I really enjoyed Jim Marrs, and his
very eclectic talk last night. He touched on everything from remote
viewing, JFK, the Oklahoma City bombing, to UFOs, the alien autopsy,
and other things that I probably don't even remember. (grin)

I LIKE him. You can tell right away that he's a good ol' home grown
Texas boy, uses our vernacular, and has a good sense of humor. The
presentation was nothing fancy, no slides or video, but engaging
nonetheless.

Some points of interest for you on the remote viewing segment...

Marrs has written a book about remote viewing, based on his very
intimate discussions with people who claim to be utilizing it in an
effective and fruitful way. His book was accepted, an advance was
paid, and in the galley stages, ready to go to press, when it was
suddenly yanked. He suspects that he has rubbed some covert noses the
wrong way.

Remember that all of the following is via Jim Marrs, but per the
people that he has talked to about remote viewing. Marrs himself said
that he doesn't know if it's all true or not, but feels very strongly
that it is. This isn't based solely on trust, apparently. Marrs told
us that he had several of these people that were one-time government
employees taking part in remote-viewing projects that had been willing
to talk to him about it.

According to his sources, various agencies, including the CIA, the
DIA, the US Navy, and the US Army have been studying, developing, and
using psychic phenomena and remote viewing for over 20 years. In 1960,
a French magazine article claimed that the United States was testing
psychic communication. According to the story, we had a "psi-spy,"
Marrs' term, in a submarine, under the ice around Antarctica,
attempting and succeeding to send messages to another psychic in the
United States.

The Soviets, not to be shown up, and not wanting to lag behind,
initiated their own research into this phenomenon. This was finally
revealed in a the 1970 book, "Psychic Discoveries Behind The Iron
Curtain." Since then, of course, we have all heard of the psychic
phenomena from the Soviet Union, including the "healers" and other
types of psychics. Some of it is surely bogus, but the Soviet
government took the remote viewing aspect very seriously.

In 1971, Ingo Swann and Janet Mitchell were already researching
psychic phenomena similar to modern remote viewing. In fact, it was
Swann that coined the phrase "remote viewing." They had some unusual
successes with their work, and attracted the curiosity of some folks
involved with "The Company." By 1973, the CIA had intiated Project
SCANATE, (Scanning by Coordinate) headed by Hal Puthoff and Ingo
Swann.

During this project, they came up with the idea of giving their psi-
spies a set of longitude/latitude coordinates, and having them "view"
the spot. Initially, they were asking what the weather was like in the
spots. It was a simple test, and could easily be verified by an open
phone contact with the weather bureau. They had astounding success.

Then they decided to try something different, and began having their
remote viewers try spotting a place where they sent people to, without
giving them the geographic coordinates. This too went extremely well.
They would send a team out on the road with an envelope containing
their destination. Once on the road, the envelope would be opened,
and the team would progress to that place. Using a team of viewers,
they would always be able to pinpoint the place.

One of their best psi-spies was an individual by the name of Pat
Price. In 1974, Price staggered their imaginations, by pinpointing the
location of a team's computer-generated, previously unknown spot,
TWENTY MINUTES BEFORE THEY WERE PHYSICALLY THERE. Price had viewed
them there, BEFORE they got there. It was a demonstration that the
viewers could break the time barrier in some unknown way.

In 1977, General Edward Thompson formed "Detachment G" or "The
Skunkworks." (Sound familiar?) He initiated Project GRILL FLAME at
that time, in which he actually started a school for INSCOM personnel
to study this technique, under Puthoff and Swann. The problem was,
they could prove that it DID work, but not HOW. The theory proposed
was that it may have something to do with Unified Field Theory, and
the idea that all things are somehow connected on an atomic level, an
etheric connection. (You should all know about the spinning neutrons
idea... Two neutrons linked together, spinning opposite directions of
each other. When the two are seperated, and one is forced to spin in
the reverse, the other seems to somehow "know it" and reverse it's own
spin, so they are still opposite to each other.)

While Thompson was in charge of the project under the CIA, it was
still in it's infant stages, and many details about the research
apparently leaked out easily. But in 1985, the DIA took over the
project, security became tighter, and it was less open to public view.

Apparently, the process is to use six to eight "viewers" at a time on
a project, having them all focus on a given target spot. When the
data they come up with is weighed and compared, then a satellite
zeroes in on the sight, looking for confirmation. This may seem
contradictory to the idea that they need longitude/latitude
coordinates, but Marrs was told that that was only in the initial
phases of the study. It had later progressed to the point where they
needed to only be told what they were looking for, then to find the
target. After a while, it became obvious that the experienced psi-
spies were apparently in some way picking up the instruction
psychically from their superiors, and even got to the point where they
only needed to be given the command, "Target," and they'd go right to
work.

This was put into practical application initially when intelligence
sources revealed that, of the soviet missiles that were in a given
area, some were armed with war heads, and some were dummies. The
remote viewers apparently "looked" at the missiles, by the target
command, then could tell which were armed and which were not, by a
deeper "look," utilizing the time factor, viewing them throughout
their construction, all the way back to the place the material used to
make them was mined at, thus determining which contained material that
would have gone into a nuclear warhead.

When told to view high technology aircraft, the big surprise came...
Apparently some of the aircraft that were spotted belonged to neither
the Americans NOR the Russians. In fact, it is claimed, they didn't
even belong to earth. The remote viewers had found UFOs operating in
our air spaces, while looking for advanced aircraft. This created
some dismay among military officials, and all of such cases were
shuttled off to the back door, into the "Enigma Files."

Marrs told us that the remote viewers had looked at many different
types of things, in many different times throughout history.
Aircraft, Biblical Golgotha, UFOs, people, Loch Ness, even wallets.
The wallets sometimes showed up with images of pastures, if they were
made of leather. So this apparently is more than just looking at
something. It may be a psychic perception of what it is, was, will
be.

Interestingly, the Soviets were apparently training their own psi-
spies. The Americans have stated that sometimes while they are "en
route" to their viewing destination, traveling in a way that could be
construed as "astral projection," they would sometimes pass their
Soviet counter-parts. They would instinctively know who they were
once they saw them. As a comical aside, the American psi-spies were
said to have begun wearing Nixon masks, to freak out the Soviets. If
true, this borders on hilarious. "The American President was there,
and he was looking at me, comrade!"

The point was made that this may be a great tool for assassination.
But, according to the sources, it was impossible to do anything except
"look." They also said that it was exceedingly hard to do anything
vile in this state, that violence was impossible. Every psi-spy has
to go into it with a clear mind, honorable intentions, and without
having his own per-ceptions and interpretations cloud the incoming
information. Most of the data was not so much a "picture," as it was
feelings, and vague intuitions.

The people that you expect to be immersed in all of this,
stereotypically new-age, mellow, and low key are not necessarily the
folks that are doing it. Marrs told us that one of the remote viewers
that he had talked to was an ex-training official, a member of the
82nd Airborne. You may expect him to be one to keep this close to the
vest, having given his oath, but he felt deeply that the story had to
be told to the rest of humanity about this process which is probably
present, to some degree, in all of us.

Okay, on to the wilder stuff...

The psi-spies told Marrs that they have viewed other planets and other
races. They told him that there are thousands of species of beings in
existence. Apparently, earth is a backwaters, well away from the
denser and more heavily-populated part of the galaxy. But many of the
"others" are aware of us and are interested in us, because there is
something unique about us, and something is about to change about us.

They said that there were Martians at one time, and a few are still
there. This brings us to the incidents of our own spacecraft around
Mars.

Jim Marrs asked what had happened to the Mars Observer. He was told
that it was the same thing that had happened to the Soviet Phobos II.
When he asked what that was, they explained that, according to
multiple viewers, in 1989, when Phobos II was closing on Mars, a
circular object rose from the surface, "scanned" Phobos II, did
nothing hostile, then returned to the surface of the planet.
Unfortunately the process used to scan was electro-magnetic and
scrambled the navigational and other computer controls in the craft.
Phobos II went dead, was eventually hit by a meteor, then finally
crashed into the planet. Well-known Soviet scientist Marina Popovich
(sp?) claims to have a copy of the very last photo taken by Phobos II
before they lost contact, and there is a tear-shaped, almost circular
object approaching it.

There was much more to Marrs' talk, but that is the gist and most
substan-tial part that he did on remote viewing. Like he said, it was
a fascinating subject, but he couldn't be sure that everything was
true.

I say we figure out how to do it, and go see for ourselves, heh heh.

Regards to all,

Glenn
