 If investigated David, you will be surprised that there is a growing
 number of people who have shared dreams.  In my experience with
 shared dreaming, it simply relates a series of dreaming events where
 you as an observer in a normally subjective experience now share an
 objective point with another dreamer where apon waking that other
 dreamer is able to communicate back to you in clarity the observed
 (shared) dream as if it was a physical event in a physical location
 ie.  Like meeting for coffee, but this time in Cafe' Lucid Dreams.

 The "first" shared dream that I had, where I realised that I was
 dreaming was with Todd here.  He is a long standing friend and has
 been with me since I started having phreaky precognitive dreams of
 some disturbing consitancy.  Todd fortunatly was able to verify that
 what I was telling him (among others) that what I was telling him
 about in my dreams was occuring physically.  [I knew this and it was
 even nicer when someone else validated that experience]

 The dream which we first shared (there have been others) was probably
 the best because:

 a.) We had no idea that we could share dreams so didn't really
     concider that.

 b.) I told him a portion with holding information which he then
     revealled, something he could only know by actually sharing the
     dream.

 c.) It was validated over the phone immediatly after I woke up.
     Intuition demanded that I found out if he was sleeping and what
     he dreamt about.

Over all, a really cool experience and I'm glad Todd was the first to
share in it with me.  He has also shared dreams with other people as
have I.

The first dream had very signifigant locations...McDonald and Burger
King. My house and my street.  A key person and event that led to some
interesting result.  The key person and even is what Todd related to
me in very percise and clear detail.  A older looking man in brown
robs with a grey beard.  I was holding his hand (as a focus to remain
consiouse in the dream) and Todd gave very clear and consise verbal
confirmation after we agreed at the initial location near McDonalds
and Burger King.

After that shared dream, I managed to share dreams with more people
than I have fingers.  And a few people I have worked with since have
shared dreams with each other on more than one occasion.  One case
where the exaggeration of the dream state made it really clear to both
that this was no subjective dream state.  And also, shared dreams are
not limited to just 2 people. Todd has shared dreams with 2 others
people at once as have I.

As a phenomena...well, after you really look at it, you'll understand
that it's common.  Just we don't remeber or we improperly filter the
dream to waking memory during the course of the sleeping period.  If
you are interested more on some details, let me know so I don't go too
deeply into a subject you may not wish to get deeper into.
