Hi.

While I'm in the mood... what IS awareness?

I was thinking about this in the previous message. If everything
finite is an illusion, then so too /might/ awareness be. As awarenes
is not fully developed yet, it would be foolish to talk about it in
finite terms, for its full development is oneness with the whole
universe - original God, void of time and space. So, this seems to
imply that `awarness', or the awareness we have now, is a state in the
evolution of a universal mind, a mind which exists everywhere and
within everything, living or otherwise. This includes all matter and
non-`conscious' materials, therefore to say that the mind is only
existing within the human brain would be foolish because evolution
would surely dictate that it eventually grows into all places, if it's
not there already.

Unless, however, the awareness really does die when the body dies. I
was thinking that ANY finite thing will come to an end somewhen,
therefore the property of `awareness' might be a system just like
everything else. For it to be a simple system would it really be
possible AT ALL to experience yourself or anything else? It would be
like a giant computer surely. To use a previous analogy, does heat
give love to cold when they meet? Do they experience each other or do
they just abide by systematic reactions? If you answer that heat/cold
DO `perceive' then this means that the whole universe perceives. If
not, then it shows that `awareness' is alien to the universe, surely?

The prospect of having this `awareness' simply as a thing created by
science seems somewhat impossible to comprehend. If the whole universe
is scientific, then no matter how complex it gets there never CAN be
awareness of `self'. NEVER, under no conditions or formation, it's
just logically impossible. Yet, we have it. If you want to think of
awareness being a scientific phenomenon, like a chemical reaction,
then you really need to question how possible that is. Would it really
be possible to `experience' in ANY way within a rigid scientific
structure of logic? No. It would be like asking heat to feel love for
cold when they meet, or for light to read poetry to darkness.

Therefore, I dunno about you, but I've concluded that awareness MUST
be a universal thing, it MUST be something which doesn't HAVE to be
present in a human body. God's mind? Perhaps. IT also shows that the
awareness is currently not in its full form, and therefore that it is
evolving TO that, which means that awareness is only detatched
slightly. It would require that the thing being evolved to is void of
time/space, which means that you must be evolving FROM it, under time
laws. THAT means that we all share the same mind, working in unison,
and there is mind EVERYWHERE. As the mind focusses into a particular
place is creates a being, a form, a `self'. When selfs merge, it gets
closer to the ultimate.
