The following is my personal account of two lectures held at
Marcon 29 in Columbus Ohio on May 15, 1994.   The first lecture I
attended concerned alien abductions and the second concerned the
"SMOKING GUN Evidence" about the UFO crash at South Haven Park on
Long Island in New York.

Before you begin reading this, you must keep in mind that this
paper is strictly my opinion and should be treated as such.
IOW, if you don't like it, that is YOUR opinion.  Also Note that
I may missed important things so don't consider this the
conclusive document.

Part I.

The first lecture concerned "Alien Abductions"  The panel
consisted of four speakers.  Each took a turn explaining their
opinions on the alien abduction phenomena.  I will summarize the
statements made by each and then present my opinion afterwards.

RELEVANT POINTS:

Jim Donahoe

1.  There are many alien abductions but most people don't come
forward and this is due primarily to fear of Ridicule, losing
their mind or they don't know what to think.

2.  The number of times a person is abducted ranges from 1 to 14.
He states that it is rare for the number of abductions to exceed
this amount.

3.  The common abductee claims to have been poked and prodded
with needles and other devices.

My Comment:  It is unclear to me if the man knew any more than
these well known facts.  He may have been limiting his statements
due to the audience.    Prior to him making his statement, he
asked how many people have heard of the "Greys".   Of the 40 or
so people only about 10 raised their hands.  Perhaps he tempered
what he knew because of this.  He seemed to be a nice enough guy
though.

Howard F(mumbled last name) :

1.  Mentioned Betty Hill and how she spoke about procedures such
as amniocentesis and other medical procedures that were not known
20-30 years ago.  Also that her statements were detailed beyond
what was even being dreamed about at the time..

My Comment:  Again nothing new.  I had hoped to hear new
abduction information but this guy couldn't offer any.

Don Jernigan,  a member of PIC.   PIC is an acronym for
"Phenomena Investigation Committee"

1.  He Stated "Reality is Delayed fiction".   He made several
points about how some Science fiction  written in the 50s is now
scientific fact.     -  A good point but he failed to mention how
much science fiction DIDN'T come true.

2.  There are two groups of UFO researchers.  Civilians, who are
locked in a box because of the fear of ridicule and secret
researchers who have access to all the Gov't goodies -   I was
beginning to see a pattern developing but I was going to wait
until he actually "said it" before I "Labeled" him.  I will get
to this in a minute.

3.  UFOs go back thousands of years.  He mentioned Romans of 47AD
seeing "Flying Shields".

4.  States that the great pyramids of Giza were built by with
techniques that were not known at the time by the indigenous
population.  Uses the example that the 2 times the height the
great pyramid divided by the sum of the 4 sides = PI.    -  I
must note that this is not a proof of anything other than the
fact that whoever built the pyramids had access to higher
mathematics than is generally thought to have existed at that
time.

My comment:  This man seemed to have the most information and
fielded questions from the audience in a very logical manner.
After a few minutes I started to get the impression that this man
uses William Cooper as a source of most of his information.  He
proved it to me during the final questions and answers.

Some blond woman (name mumbled - Last name Tillman I think)

1.   Talked about a friend who had been abducted by 3 grey
creatures and 1 tall, blond haired, blue eyed being.  She stated
that her friend felt these creature were nice.  Also the tall
blond(the Nordic) gave her a long grey rod to bring back.  He
later asked for it back and apologized that he couldn't let her
have it at the current time.   He also said that he would be
meeting her again.   The interesting thing about this case is
that the woman was a school bus driver.  The day of her abduction
she was 45 minutes late in picking up the children on her route.
Also I think she said that there were witnesses that saw the bus
parked at the end of a dead-end road at the time in question.

2.  She stated that there have been  many cattle mutilations in
and around London Ohio.   She also stated that State Route 665
near London has been labeled "UFO highway" due to the large
number of UFO sightings in that area.

My comment:  Interesting story and I think that she believed
everything she said.  Aside from that, this was no more than an
anecdotal story with little or no "Real" evidence to support it.
I spoke to her later and found her to be an extremely pleasant
person.

When the four speakers were done, they opened the floor for
Questions and Answers.

Q.  "Do abductees seems to have one type of blood more than any
other."

A.  (Don Jernigan).  "William Cooper, if he is to be believed,
states that human blood and cattle blood are similar (Don seemed
to miss the question).   Cooper says that the Aliens need
something from our blood to live....."

The remainder of the questions were answered with "Cooper" part
of each sentence.  I found this to be somewhat irresponsible
considering the audience.  If most of the audience didn't know
what a "Grey" is, how can they be expected to understand that
Cooper shouldn't be used as a reference and that most of his
assertions are suspect.   These uninformed people are now
probably spouting off to their friends about "The Truth" that
large bases exist under New Mexico that contain vats of human
body parts.   This man was an unwitting spreader of more dis-
information.

After about 10 minutes of this, time expired and the next group
was moving in.

Part II

The LIUFON presentation about "Smoking Gun"  Evidence about the
UFO crash on Long Island.

As I entered the room I walked past Several LIUFON members and
took a seat towards at the front of the room.  I had a tape
recorder that I was fiddling with and my Camcorder was laying on
the ground at my feet.   Mister Ford from LIUFON walked past me
several times eyeing me suspiciously.  I had a pretty good Idea
that he didn't want  me to video tape the event and I concluded
that the next time he walked past, I would ask him if I could.
He approached me and just about as I was going to speak to him he
spoke "Is that a Video Camera" indicating my 8mm Sony laying in
PLAIN view on the floor at my feet.   I felt like saying "No it
just looks like one, actually it is a just a $900 squirt gun" I
did said "Yes, I wanted to ask....."  I didn't get to finish my
sentence because he interrupted. "Unless you want to get named in
a Federal Copyright violation suit in which we will prosecute you
to the fullest extent of the law, you will leave this room with
that Camera and any other recording equipment you have."  Said in
the most rude and provocative manner you can imagine. Whoa, what
the fuck brought that on. I said graciously "No problem".   I
stood up and looked down on this little pinhead of a  man and
said "you didn't have to be so rude, you could have just asked."
I am a quite large, well-built person and I could swear this guy
was thinking he made an enormous mistake, and in any other
setting it might have been.    Maybe it was Just wishful
thinking.  Anyway, As I was walking out, I heard him say to the
rest of the group "We will not start the presentation with any
type of recording equipment in the room, blah, blah, blah."  Said
in a much nicer tone.   Maybe he learned a lesson.

I understand the need to protect copyrights as much as any other
person but I must state that this guy acted in a most
unprofessional manner and was very rude.  I must also state that
there were no signs posted  nor was their any information to be
found anywhere about Cameras or Recorders, including in the
program.   Also, none of the other LIUFON members bothered to
mention anything about this as I was walking in with my camera in
CLEAR view around my shoulder.    I hoofed it back 8 blocks to my
car and put my camera and recorder in the vehicle and hoofed it
back to the hotel.  Round trip took 22 minutes and I missed the
first 5 minutes of the presentation.

The presentation consisted of 3 sets of slides and a video
presentation.

Slide Set 1:

Pictures of the areas surrounding South Haven Park.  Including a
correction facility, a local refuse dump and Brook haven National
Laboratories(which is a park in and of itself).   If you saw the
Fox show Conspiracies you saw parts of this same evidence. -
Aerial pictures of the Park and surrounding areas -Trees
uprooted, a fire cone, a radiation suit, burnt trees and vehicle
tire ruts. -They showed evidence of fire roads being widened as
well as two feet of dirt being removed from the surface of the
roads.   The park manager who supposedly knows everything about
what goes on in the park didn't know anything about the roads and
such.   Other slides showed piles of dirt that were definitely
recent.  Ford also stated that soon after the pictures were taken
the piles were removed. -Several slides showing piles of Sand in
the middle of nowhere for no apparent reason.  These sand pits
included seashells and the sand is the same as sand from a nearby
beach. -Several trees had been recently cut by a chainsaw.  Ford
Stated that this is a criminal offense and if caught results in
a very large fine. -He related stories about intimidated
witnesses and a minister who reported that his car had started by
itself and caught on fire about 1 hour after the crash time.
This minister was man-handled by the local police and was in the
hospital for 4 months due to diabetes and abuse from the police.
The minister is suing the Suffolk county police for 1 billion
dollars. -An older lady was quested extensively by the police
after the LIUFON group came by and asked questions.  Ford Claims
LIUFON has pictures of the police actively harassing them and
other people.   Nothing to this effect was shown.

My comment:  The bulk of this information could be shown by
anyone with a camera and some time to walk around the park and
fly around the surrounding area taking pictures.  This
information was just used to set the background and was not an
indication of much other than the fact that the South Haven Park
manager is probably either incompetent or covering something up.
It also provided the scope of the entire event area in that the
crash on Long Island was not a single crash but rather a group of
6 or 8 pods hitting the ground after being separated from a
mother ship.


Slide Set II

This set was dedicated almost exclusively to pictures taken from
a 2 minute film given to LIUFON by a secret source that Mr. Ford
called "Uncle Bob"

The first slides showed essentially the same pictures as shown on
Fox's UFO Conspiracies.  Pictures of a burning object.

-Fire spectral analysis could not determine the type of object
burning.  It looked similar to that of metals found at Roswell.

-After several minutes Mr. Ford brought up a poorly drawn
picture.  He said "Study this drawing and view the next picture
not as black and  white but as shades of grey." He displayed the
next slide and after staring at it for a few moments I could see
the faint outline of a body laying against a tree and another
right next to it.  He said "Ladies and Gentlemen, you are looking
at the first pictures of Alien beings ever to be shown to the
public."   "Notice that the heads of these creatures are 3 to 4
times larger than our own"

- I could indeed see the profile of a creature's face and the
face of  a similar creature next to it.  Apparently the second
creature had something covering its face and Mr. Ford stated that
they had concluded that it was women's panty hose.

-I also noticed that the first creature looked like its legs had
been severed about mid thigh.  Mr. Ford confirmed this after a
few minutes.

-These slides had been computer enhanced and were derived from an
8mm video camera that had taken the pictures at a distance of 63
feet, at night and in a group of trees.  If there was a moon out,
it couldn't be seen.  It was difficult to determine any real
details but the pictures got progressively better and something
could definitely be seen.

-Ford stated that there were four Aliens to be seen in the
picture.  I couldn't see anymore than the two apparent ones.  It
was very difficult to discern anything more since the quality of
the pictures was so poor.

-Ford also stated that one alien could be seen to move his head
from side to side.  He showed two frames that didn't look any
different to me but he claimed that the alien had turned his head
from full profile to a full frontal shot in 1 frame or 1/30 of a
second.  He pointed out that only insects can move that quickly.
I added to myself that something that is not bound by our
conventional concepts of time could do the same thing.  Who knows
though.  I personally couldn't see any difference from one slide
to the next.   I also asked a man next to me and he couldn't tell
either.    Perhaps if I stared at it long enough, I might be able
to see what Ford states was there.

-This biggest shock about this part of the slide show was that
the pictures were not taken at South Haven park but taken at
Brook haven National laboratories.   They determined this because
the picture clearly shows a paved parking lot.  Apparently no
parking lots are paved at South Haven.  Also, their "secret
source" contact said they were looking in the wrong place and
that the real evidence exist at Brook haven Labs.

-After looking at 30 or so different enhancements of the same
frames from the video tape, I got the definite impressions that
something with a big head was laying there dead.  Beyond this
nothing else can be said.

My Comment:  The pictures shown definitely looked like some kind
of alien.  I must point out that these pictures were VERY dark
and hard to identify.  These were also computer enhancements of
two frames of film that were taken at night.   By themselves
these pictures mean nothing, but taken in the context of the
crash, they are somewhat believable.

Slide Set III.

This set was similar to the first in that it showed daytime
pictures of the area around South Haven park.

-It is a fact that local residents went without power for 40
minutes during the time of the UFO crash.  After tracing the
trajectory of one Pod from the mother ship they came to a
4megawatt Power line running to the community.  Pictures clearly
showed that the lines directly in the proposed flight path of the
pod had been spliced.  It was very clear that this was from the
UFO crash.  100 or so feet from the spliced line you could easily
see where something had progressively embedded itself deeper and
deeper into the forest floor.  The deepest part looked to be
about 4 feet down.   It was also noteworthy  that nearly all the
vegetation in the "Flight Path" was dead or dying.

-Pictures were shown of a new correctional facility built on top
of  a place where they had evidence that one pod had crashed.
Ford concluded that little or no evidence is left and it would be
impossible to prove anything from this sight.

- Ford showed other evidence that indicated that one Pod had
crashed in the Local Dump.  "Uncle Bob" had provided a few
seconds of video that show a massive explosion.   Ford stated
that the ship began to take off and exploded in mid air.   The
pictures that he showed just looked like a big ball of flame to
me.  Nothing decisive here.

-Ford showed some daytime pictures behind the Suffolk county
police department were something had recently been covered up.  I
wasn't sure about his point here other than that it was evident
that there had been recent ground fires.  Nothing very decisive
here either.

-Pictures of metal fragments that they claimed to have found in
the surrounding areas of the UFO crashes. Ford Claimed that two
of the three objects were highly radioactive.  He stated that
this material could not be easily bent even though it was fairly
thin.  He stated that the metal in these pieces was a mixture of
several things:  The metal was primarily Platinum with parts of
Gold, Nickel, Magnesium and possibly others but I can't remember.

- A picture of a "Hand" that had five fingers.   The hand was
burnt and the analysis by an orthopedic surgeon was that is was
most likely a foot but  it didn't match that of any known species
on the planet.

My Comment:  This set of pictures didn't really do anything more
than just solidify the case that something has happened at this
area of Long Island.


Video Tape:

After Ford and some women spent 10 minutes trying to figure out
how to use a VCR, they finally got the video tape running.  The
tape had only one interesting segment that wasn't show during the
Slide part of the presentation.

-We got to see in slow motion the area of the tape where the
Aliens were supposedly depicted.   I must state that absolutely
nothing could be seen that looked even remotely like the slides
that were seen earlier.

-The interesting part was a segment in which an Alien head passes
about 8 inches from the video camera.  They had the image slowed
down and you could definitely see the right half of a "Typical
Gray" head.  The computer enhancements of this image weren't very
good but the "Slow Mo" wasn't too bad.

-The video showed the Mother ship coming in and making wild
movements and breaking up in to many pieces -The tape also showed
the video of the pod from the Dump site attempting to take off
and explode in mid-air.  I must state that It just looked like
one big explosion to me but a detailed analysis would probably
show more.

-After the video tape, they had some guy who claims to have used
a metal detector and found a piece of "Alien Debris"  He was
later picked up by some group(He said "I was picked up by the,
uh,  FBI, Uh, Yah, I  think it was the FBI) and asked the same
question over and over again "What do you know".  My opinion of
this guy is that he is a lying idiot looking for attention, but
what do I know?

My Comment:  All of the evidence combined definitely shows that
something happened in this area of Long Island.  I have one small
problem though.  The video tape that shows the ship exploding,
the pod taking off and the Aliens leaning against the tree was
provided by "Uncle Bob".  Ford claims that "Uncle Bob" has
connections and is deep in the gov't.  This video is about 50% of
their evidence.  I have to ask how many people have access to
these kind of tapes?  Very few I would imagine.  It wouldn't take
much on the part of the powers that be to figure out who is
smuggling tape to the outside.    This happens to make me very
suspicious of the source of these tapes.  I don't propose to know
the answers but I wouldn't take all that I see at face value as
do the members of LIUFON.  We all know the fallacy of having a
"Secret Source".

-Something else to note was the Attitude of Mr. Ford.  He was
asked several general questions about  methods and tests.  Every
question he answered "No Comment".   Someone else asked Mr. Ford
about a particular slide in which it looked like there was an
object heading towards the mother ship.  I saw this same thing
but Ford dismissed it as saying. "There is absolutely nothing on
this tape that we haven't figured out and you are wrong about
what you think you saw".  This is just one example of the "Holier
than thou" attitude which was VERY apparent from Mr. Ford.

It is my opinion that people like Mr. Ford are indicative of the
problem with the whole UFO field.  The first is that they are
suspicious of everything and everyone and while I don't really
have a problem with this everything must be taken in context,
which Ford apparently is not willing to do.   Second, that once a
group actually has something they want to profit from it.
LIUFON claims to be a Not-For-Profit Corporation, yet they won't
release their video tape because they WANT to profit from it.  If
you want a copy of the presentation as shown at Marcon, you need
to just send the group $30.00(I think this is the cost).  Of
course you won't get a second or third generation copy.  You Will
get a 5th generation copy of the original which has enough signal
degradation that you can't do any of your own analysis.  If
LIUFON was really concerned about spreading the word and breaking
the silence barrier, you could get a 3rd generation tape for
$5.00 and they wouldn't be concerned about Copyright violations.

In conclusion, I believe that LIUFON has done a thorough
investigation and it is my opinion based on the evidence shown
that something crashed on Long Island and that the there is a
conspiracy to cover it up.  The Pictures shown were not excellent
quality but it could be discerned that "Alien" Entities were
shown.  Is this "Smoking Gun" Evidence of a cover-up?  Yes.   Is
this "Smoking Gun" Evidence of Aliens on this planet?  No.
