Subject: Living in fear

I live my life in fear of something that I cannot define, cannot deny
and worst of all, cannot remember clearly.  I have a vague feeling
that I have been abducted, a feeling of revulsion deep in my abdomen
whenever I think of the visitors.  Whenever I look t Whitley
Streiber's book "Communion" I get a shiver though every cell in my
body.  The eyes of the visitor look though me, seeking in my mind.
That image scares me to hell.

I have a vague memory of a large craft hovering above our house,
glowing a strange lilac colour.  I wonder if it is hot or cold, but
before I have time, the light engulfs me and I am no longer below the
craft.  I am in it, somewhere.  I remember a long, cool, curving
corridor, a sound like whispering bells and those huge black eyes
boring into my soul.

During the daylight hours I can cope with these scrambled thoughts and
feelings.  Sometimes I even want them to come, to make me a part of
whatever they are doing.  But at night when the darkness is as black
as their eyes, the fear takes me in a slippery silver grip.  I cannot
sleep for fear that I will dream of them.  I cannot dream for fear
that the dream will be real.

I want to remember, to embrace this experience.  And at the same time
I want to forget, to bury it deep in the slime at the bottom of my
soul, down with the forgotten animal inside.  But the sound of
whispering bells haunts me, the scent of them lingers.  I shall never
be free of this.
